"I suppose you don't come here just to lecture me on how to use a gun safely?" Emma asked.
Sharon shook his head, "No, I come here to apologize and give you more detail on the situation right now. Emma, I'm sorry I didn't say anything to help you earlier. But I hope you understand, as a councillor I have to be neutral. I was just stating what I knew."
"And what did you know?" Emma demanded.
"Doesn't matter now." Sharon dismissed it. "We just got some news from inside P.S.B. about an hour ago. They put a huge bounty on your head, all three of you. Caul is desperate."
"Or maybe it's just whoever runs P.S.B. is desperate. Caul is too calculated to be that." Emma said thoughtfully, "We did killed a P.S.B. assassin. It will look bad if they can't catch us."
"It may be that, if they are willing to admit that's their assassin. What I want to say is, if we didn't trust you then, we will have to now. At least we will have to work with you now. And not just you, the other two as well."
"I already joined Olive's mission, whatever that is. But what about John and Blanche? What do you want them to do?"
"We will have to discuss with them later. I'm sure Miss Bittern knows what job to assign them. Although I don't think they will be allowed anywhere near the Nightshade Resistance. Noah Albiar still doesn't trust you." Sharon said.
"Nightshade Resistance? Is that your military?" Emma asked.
"Yes, we took the name from an anti-peculiar society from the eighteenth century. Miss Bittern probably thought that's poetic or something, I'm not sure. And Noah is our general." Sharon explained, "He used to be a war consultant of the Nothern Clan."
"What if John and Blanche don't want the jobs you assign them?" Emma asked, "Will you allow them to just enjoy loop life for a while? I'm sure they at least deserve that."
"That would be fine. And consider the recent situation, I can see that happen. I would probably suggest them to do that, too."
"Just try not to make your job offers sound too tempting and they won't bring you any trouble."
"You mean they won't accept." Sharon commented.
Emma laughed drily, "I know what kind of job a loop like this can give you. I'm almost glad to go on a suicide mission with Olive."
"Olive's mission isn't that bad." Sharon said, "She has the best fighters on her team."
"Yeah, that's all I know about the whole mission."
"You just accepted it yesterday."
"Alright, you have a point." Emma admitted.
A mouse popped its head out from Sharon's sleeve. Sharon patted it and tucked it back into his sleeve. "Be a good boy, Percy, Papa is busy."
"I was just starting to wonder where that rodent went." Emma said.
"Percy is always with his Papa. Anyways, I was also sent here to help you catch up on the recent situations of the Peculiardom." Sharon took out a map and unfolded it on the table between them. The land was divided into three different colors. "Since Miss Bittern is too busy dealing with ymbryne stuff, I'm here to help enlighten you. not that I'm complaining, of course.
As you can see, the world is separated into three nations." Sharon pointed at America, "The Peculiar Republic of America covers both North, South America and New Zealand. Most of the east coast of former United States became a wasteland after the war. But only Florida remained barren now for bird-knows-why."
