What now? The last three people who should be with me right now are just rotten corpses. I'm not even going to try and open those pods.
My problem now is finding a way out. Knowing that 12,000 years have passed and that we weren't woken up way earlier can only guarantee my worries.
One: I'm probably the only survivor of this vault. Ain't that crappy.
Two: I might be the last human alive.
Three: I'm probably stuck in the vault and will die here.
And four: I want to die.
Now, the most important question is how in the world is there oxygen still here? The doors aren't air-tight, and if the power is gone, then any breathable oxygen should no longer be pumped.
Might as well try and budge this heavy door open. I put my hands on the door itself and tried to pull away from them. The sound of grinding metal is heard as it starts... falling?
"Aw crap."
A quick sidestep away from the door and covering my ears for a loud BAM. That was louder than I thought. But this worries me more now.
For metal to rust, it needs moisture, and as far as I know, this vault shouldn't have any way of allowing moisture unless the vault is leaking somewhere.
"Well. That's one way to start somewhere, I guess. Just where to check?" And with moisture in here means a horrible smell of mold. Well, it could be worse. I just gotta walk barefoot into some dark hallways where I don't see anything dangerous. This is such a horrible day.
After walking for what felt like 30 minutes, my legs already wanted to give up. The vault isn't that big, but the smell isn't getting any better. Wonder what's left of this place.
After some more walking, I see light. Light at the entrance of this entire facility. Did someone find this? Did the doors already fail after decades, centuries, eons? Maybe this is why the place is so corroded and molded off. How the essence of life can totally destroy things. Hopefully, my time capsule is okay.
CLANK
My thoughts are cut short by the sound of metal falling. This time, it's not because of me being an idiot, but either natural decaying or... "No. There's nobody else here-" Once again, cut off by the sounds of footsteps and some.
"Pwe uivg apcksqvo bquma ucab Q bmtt gwc!?! Bpmzm qa vwbpqvo qv bpqa ivkqmvb xtikm! Em pidm nwcvl vwbpqvo wn cam nzwu bpm ivkqmvb owla qv bpqa xtikm! Qb'a jmab bw tmidm qb bw nibm!"
What kind of messed-up speech is that? Sounds like someone stuffed their head in water and spoke gibberish as a first language... What. The. Fu-
That's not human. How did they get in? What the hell even is that!? My luck can't be tested knowing I'll just roll a nat' 1 and die at the hands of this... Alien invasion crap. Just need to walk through and avoid this.

What are they even saying? I know those two are talking to each other. But it sounded different compared to the other one. Just gotta get through this.

A/N: Oh my goodness. I'm not dead! (Even though it's been a little less than one full month). Where have I been? Vacation and work. Yes, I'm on summer break, but I'm enjoying my free time and forgetting stuff. (I really need to add more words)
Note: This is a passion project.
