I sank into my soft bed sighing with relief; it had been a long day. Clanking out of my apartment window at the rolling grey roofs of London occasionally broken by glimpses of skyscrapers and, if you looked at just the right angle, the top of the Shard. That was really all there was to look at up here. And pigeons. Lots of pigeons. But I still loved my apartment for all its flaws: the slightly crooked light on the ceiling, the small kitchen littered with unwashed plates, the small bathroom separated from the rest of the small room by a small curtain – in fact everything about the room was small. I didn't mind though because I had never really been the biggest person (physically and mentally) so it suited me. With a smile on my face I went through my phone to my new app – BiiMii – but before I could blink a swirling kaleidoscope of colours filled the room and everything went dark.

Wait! What? What's happening? Getting to my feet, I gasped in wonder at the sight that lay before me. The pigeons were gone and so was the Shard. Instead, rolling hills blanketed by dense forest while crystal clear rivers wove their way through the beautiful landscape.it was paradise. In the far distance I spotted rumbling, crashing waves rolling in to shore; the sea. This was unexpected – certainly – and slightly unsettling but it was also a new world full of unknown opportunities so I would worry about how I got here later.
Moving through the woods towards a faint sound of running water, as the noise grew louder I soon realised that it wasn't just a stream... A beautiful treehouse stood in the centre of a large clearing and, framed behind it was a tumbling waterfall with a double rainbow over the top. It was perfect. Maybe even too perfect. Replaying Goldilocks in my head, I clambered up the precarious rope ladder until I could haul myself up onto a small platform (I highly doubted bears could climb rope ladders, but I was cautious all the same) where I saw a red wooden door surrounded by red roses on leafy vines. I took a tentative step towards the door, which swung open when I got close, and I caught sight of a picturesque cottage setting. A mint green Queen-sized bed lay in the corner and next to it sat a comfy looking grey-blue armchair with a fluffy white cushion nestled on the soft fabric. Through another door I could see a bathroom and shower room and to the right of the door I was standing in was a small kitchen standing proudly and firmly – away from everything else. As I step further in the bed was calling to me and I suddenly realised just how tired I was. Without me realising it, my feet were carrying me to the soft comfort of the bed's linen sheets - as my hands reached to pull back the covers I took one last look at the lovely treehouse before I was embraced in a deep sleep...

As I woke up from my peaceful dream, it took me a minute to realise where I was and to process the things that had happened yesterday. I lay in bed remembering the waterfall and the hills and the far off sea and – most importantly – the cottage. But wait. This was no cottage! Where am I?! The straw roof intertwined with beautiful roses was gone, replaced with a glass ceiling. And instead of the old mint green bed, I was in an elegant black one. And the windows didn't overlook the adorable flower meadow any more, instead the view was the rumbling, crashing sea. The house was balanced on beams hanging precariously over a sheer cliff with a bed of sharp rocks at the bottom. The tide ebbed and flowed up and down the pebbly beach scattering seaweed and shells across the small cove. I jumped out of bed and looked further to my left, my eyes tracing the delicate rose petals of the flowers that clambered eagerly up the wall. I walked over to the main dining room with a complacent manner, the stove was on and bacon frying and sizzling in a pan while waffles popped out the toaster. I watched in amazement as they jumped out the toaster and onto the nearest plate.
