Jennie was rendered speechless. Her heart clenched as she looked at Lisa's happy expression with a hint of smugness. She snorted, "President Manoban, don't get the wrong idea. I don't want the outsiders to misunderstand that my grandfather is taking revenge and bullying the younger generation because of what we both did over the past."
As Jennie was speaking this, she grumbled to herself disdainfully, 'That old man said that I'm busy because I need to handle so many things in the company, so it's good that someone could share my burden. He already knew that I'm very busy yet he still often causes trouble for me. What's with hoping that someone would share my burden?! His glib tongue sounds just as sweet as a ballad!'
Did the former master really think that she had not the faintest clue what he had in his mind? He had dragged her down and now, he even intended to use her to pull in Lisa so that he could work for him as well.
Once the former master was ensured that his business foundation, which he had spent more than half of his life building, was as stable as a fortress, he could travel to other places and enjoy his carefree life. What a wishful thought?!
Even Jennie could see this through, how could Lisa not get this as well?
However, the person who had set him up was, after all, Jennie's biological grandfather. As a junior from the younger generation, if he did not suffer some superficial losses, he might lose even more than that, no?
"Regarding this matter, you don't have to worry about it. What Grandfather Kim has mentioned just now was right. As your boyfriend, I should share some of your burdens."

Lisa looked like he had humbly accepted the former master's words and sincerely decided not to be calculative even though he had been taken advantage of. Jennie felt like she was suffering from a stroke. She rolled her eyes at him and did not want to say anything further.
When Lisa saw her in her current state, the corners of his lips curved upward slightly. He knew that he could not push someone too hard within a short period of time. He switched the topic and said, "Didn't you say you want to discuss a case with me today? You even said that you might need my help. So, how's the case now?"
Lisa was filled with expectancy as he asked her the question.
The moment he received Jennie's call about seeking his help yesterday, he had been very happy. This was Jennie's first time taking the initiative to seek help from him. He had decided to give it his best performance today.
However, after waiting for the whole day, he had not received Jennie's call to seek his help. In fact, he had ended up receiving Jennie's call to ask him to pick up their son!
Jennie, however, did not know that she had failed to meet President Manoban's little expectation that was only known to him. When Lisa brought this up, only then did she remember the actual intention of asking Lisa over.
She made it sound like a simple issue and replied to him, "Oh, regarding that matter, I've resolved it. I don't need your help anymore."
When President Manoban heard her words, he felt that his heart was broken into pieces...
"Speaking of which, I have something to talk to you about. We..."
Jennie surveyed her surroundings and found that the servants whom she had sent away earlier had returned from outside one after another.

Jennie furrowed her eyebrows and pointed at the second floor as she said, "Fine, let's talk about it inside my bedroom. It's inconvenient to talk over here."
Lisa's expression changed slightly upon hearing Jennie inviting him to talk to her inside her bedroom.
Soon, he suppressed his inner shock and delight. His expression remained as usual and nodded his head as he walked upstairs with Jennie.
This was Lisa's first time being given the honor to step into Jennie's bedroom.
Even though the previous Jennie had slept inside the master bedroom when she stayed in the Manoban family's residence, Lisa had avoided her like the plague. At that time, he had always stayed inside the guest room whenever he went back home.
Later, Jennie had divorced him and moved out of the Manoban family's house. Lisa returned home only after a few days.
At that time, the members of the Manoban family had known that he disliked Jennie. Therefore, the moment Jennie left the house, the old butler had quickly put away all the things she had used in the Manoban family's house. It had been difficult for Lisa to find even the slightest bit of trace of Jennie's presence in his house.
Later, Lisa had understood his feelings for Jennie. However, she had been lukewarm to him.
The two hardly shared intimate moments between themselves nor often spent time with each other alone without any barriers, much less visit Jennie's bedroom so abruptly.
Jennie had taken the initiative to make a call to him to ask him to pick up their son today. Now, she had taken the initiative once again to invite him for some private talk inside her bedroom. Did all this mean that... she was gradually accepting and acknowledging him?
