Izuku blushed. He'd never heard another person speak so passionately about something he believed, "I-I agree! I hate being an omega."
"Hey, don't be like that. I said I hate the system, I didn't say omegas were the issue. I know how you get treated is terrible, but there's nothing wrong with being an omega. I've met strong and respectable omegas in my life. I'm sure the reason the world keeps them in lesser power in because realistically, a whole group of omegas could easily overpower a whole group of alphas. Since the world is run by alphas, they're scared of what omegas could do if they were in control."
"How could that happen? Alphas are physically stronger than omegas. It's scientifically proven. Sure, there could be stronger omegas but overall, alphas are the more physically capable."
"Yes, but consider the hormonal balance. Alphas are more aggressive whereas omegas tend to be more level-headed. Most of the time, if an alpha gets out of line and gets to the point where they can't control themselves, the only thing that can calm them down is an-"
"Omega." Izuku connected the puzzle, "I never thought about it like that people. Theoretically speaking, an omega would have more control over alphas, at least mentally speaking. The stronger an omega is on a mental level, it doesn't matter how physically powerful an alpha is."
Katsuki smirked, "You got it. And if you're a prime omega, then you're the most powerful. But, prime omegas are even more rare than prime alphas."
"Is it ideal for prime alphas to mate with prime omegas since you're both rare?" Izuku didn't know why that question suddenly popped up, but it didn't seem to bother Katsuki.
"Well, typically families who birth primes want another prime to mate with their offspring since they're the perfect versions of the secondary genders, but since they're hard to come by, sometimes you take what you can get. My parents want me to have the perfect partner but I have no interest in that shit."
Hearing that last sentence made a part of Izuku sad, but he didn't focus on it, "I get that. I feel the same. I know it's ideal for omegas to find a mate and breed but I don't want any of that. All I care about is my dream of becoming a hero. I don't have time for relationships."
Katsuki could tell his alpha was saddened when it heard the last sentence, but he couldn't blame Izuku for feeling that way. After all, being a hero took sacrifices, and with him being an omega, it made sense for him to feel that way. If he were to get with an alpha and end up pregnant, his dreams would end right there. Even if he wanted to keep going, hero commissions wouldn't allow it. That's why they don't allow omegas to begin with, but if he's single and has no children, it would give him a better chance.
"Speaking of your dream, we should get to studying. It's what I'm here for after all." Katsuki sat on Izuku's bed next to the omega, taking off his backpack to take out the books and notes for them to go through.
Izuku mentally noted how close they were now, his freckled cheeks slightly heating up, though he didn't get why. Perhaps because he had never been this close to an alpha before. Well, Katsuki did pin him to a wall when they met but now they were close together in a more casual way.
"Alright, here's what I have. What would you like to get started on?" Katsuki asked, presenting the books to Izuku as he contemplated to himself before pointing at what he wanted to study first.
As they worked together, it was difficult for Katsuki to concentrate. Not because of Izuku's scent, but because the alpha deep within him kept talking to him. Perhaps sitting this close to Izuku was a bad idea. It was giving his instincts the wrong idea.
Omegas smells good. Too good. Can't let other alphas have it. Make omega ours.
Will you shut up? Deku isn't something to own, he's his own person with feelings. You heard what he said, he doesn't want an alpha. And we barely know him!
What if Omega finds an alpha that makes him want an alpha? An alpha that's better than you?
I highly doubt that.
You're not perfect and you know it. Omega will find better.
Shut up!
Give omega your scent. It won't be permanent. Just on his clothes or something omega will bring around other alphas. Make other alphas think he's taken.
I am not doing that. He said he didn't want-
If he doesn't want alphas, won't this help keep them away?
Either Katsuki was going crazy, or his voice had a point. Maybe putting some of his scents on Izuku's clothes when he wasn't looking wouldn't be so terrible. Like his alpha said, it wasn't permanent.
And maybe, just maybe, he'd accidentally rub his scent gland from his wrist on Izuku's body as well, somewhere he could touch that wasn't too weird.
Like when their hands would accidentally brush against each other's or if he went to grab for something and it would brush against Izuku's neck or hair.
The more time they would spend together, the more articles of clothing he would 'accidentally' rub his scent on.
It wasn't like he was doing anything bad. He was just trying to help, right?
