"Oh my gosh! I'm so sorry!" I exclaimed, looking up to find Ragatha with Pomni a few feet behind her.
"Oh, Y/N! It's alright! I should be the one apoligising." she replied, extending her hand out in front of me to help me off my a$$.
I smiled and took her hand as she dragged me up.
"Well, come on. We better head to the main hall." Ragatha suggested, "Caine's got a new adventure today, and judging by what he's been teasing, it seems like it's gonna be a fun one!"
I nodded and followed Ragatha and Pomni to the main hall. Jax soon followed after and stood next to me, causing me to blush a little and look in the opposite direction. God...what is up with me gushing whenever Jax is around??
"Today's adventure is... Candy Carrier Chaos!" Caine declared, snapping me out of my trance, "That's right! The Candy Canyon Kingdom's been robbed of their most valuable resource -- maple syrup!"
Maple syrup? How is that so valuable..? I mean, it does kinda taste really good. Nevermind! Maple syrup is valuable!
"It's up to you to bring the rotten bandits who stole it to sweet, buttery justice!" Caine added.
"An entire kingdom of candy? Sounds sticky." Bubble remarked.
My dirty mind kicked in-
"Very sticky indeed."
CAINE NO-!!
"Sounds [BEEEEEEEEEEEPPPPPPP]!"
".... Bubble you can't say that."
Jax and I shared each other the same look as if we both knew what Bubble had said behind those censors. Zooble then decided to not take part (again) whilst Caine protested about some knew AI or whatever. I don't really know. I had zoned put for the most part. I was then suddenly snapped back to reality when I felt some familiar arms wrap around my waist. Then, the next thing I know, the rest of the gang and I were sitting on a candy carriage being dragged by a gummy elephant.
"Woahh....sweetheart, looks like you just couldn't resist my affection~" I heard Jax's annoying snarky voice say.
I looked at him confused until I realised I was SITTING ON HIS LAP whilst his ARMS WERE WRAPPED AROUND MY WAIST. I silently gagged and scooted off his lap, still sitting next to him, though. Jax was satisfied - thank god.
After dealing with the cocky purple bugs bunny, I leaned on the side of the carriage and admired the Candy Kingdom in awe. It made me feel a little hungry, but I was too scared to eat any of the candy.....just in case it's not edible. After what felt like two seconds to me, we arrived at what I assume was the candy castle; only to be greeted by a crowd of npc's cheering us on. Sheesh- Are we famous now or something? Jax just simply wrapped his arm around my shoulder and pulled me in closer, giving me his trademark smirk. I just stared at him with the most blank expression ever. Look, I was still tired from yesturday's havoc. I wasn't exactly bothered to deal with this.
We climbed out of the carriage, Jax still holding me close. Jax and I noticed the others making their way to the castle so the both of us followed. Yeahhh....we had no idea what we were doing. Jax being Jax probably couldn't care less and I just zoned out whilst Caine explained the adventure. Who I assume was the princess trotted out of her castle and made her way over to us.
"Ah, you must be the brave knights sent to us by God..." she began, gesturing to a picture of Caine on the stained glass. Wait a second....Caine's the God?? I mean.... I guess he kinda makes the adventures and stuff, "...to help us with our recent catastrophe."
"That's us, ma'am." Ragatha replied, "Your kingdom's awesome, by the way. Love the vibe!"
"I like you already!" the princess giggled.
"Look, Pomni. We're already friends with the princess!" Ragatha told Pomni.
"I'm not a child. You don't have to hype me up." Pomni replied, unfased.
That is some mood right there.
"I assumed you've been informed of your mission." the princess stated, "The bandits that robbed us used a modded syrup tanker, so we figured the best way to go head-to-head with them is to give you a war rig of your own."
Suddenly, a giant candy truck drove into view (WITHOUT A DRIVER) and accidentally ran over a mannequin. Poor mannequin..
"Ooh, violence!" Jax cooed, making me look at him like a dissapointed mother.
"What time period is this supposed to be again..??" Pomni questioned.
I simply shrugged.
"Here's the key back into the kingdom for when you've secured the goods. I trust you not to let it fall into the wrong hands?" the princess exclaimed, placing the key in my palms.
Uhhh- Why does she trust me-? Eh, I can handle just a small key.
"You can count on me, Your Highness." I replied, curtsying / bowing.
"Oh, please. Call me Loo."
"Will do, Loo."
"I call shotgun." Jax called out, running towards the truck.
He slid into the truck and pressed the horn, only for it to release a distorted warble.
"Oh, God, is that the horn? That sucks. Sweetheart, you drive."
With that, Jax pulled me into the drivers seat and sat next to me. I stuffed the key Loo gave me into my pocked and rested my hands on the steering wheel, waiting for the others to hop in.
"Farewell, good knights! I have every faith in you!" Loo called out.
With that, I began driving the truck. Woah. Even though I don't have a liscence, this is pretty easily. I honked the horn the pi$$ Jax off, giving him that one Anya meme face.
