In the tangled threads of fate's design,
You and I may meet in time.
Unknown paths,
Yet to show,
Our meeting awaits,
And we'll soon know.

Olivia's jaw dropped in disbelief as she processed Evanna's words through the video call.
"You? To become Alan’s personal assistant?"
She exclaimed.

Evanna nodded emphatically.
"Yes! You won’t believe how harshly he said that earlier. I told you, didn’t I? Alan just pretends to be the good guy but inside he is dying to take revenge on me."

Olivia sighed, shaking her head.
"I can’t imagine what that poor guy had to endure from you to finally speak up."

Evanna's frown deepened at Olivia's response.
"Are you seriously siding with him even in this situation? Are you his friend or mine?"

Olivia chuckled softly.
"Of course, I am both of your friends."
She replied cheekily, causing Evanna to roll her eyes in exasperation.

Olivia's voice carried concern as she asked,
"So, now, what are you going to do? Will you really work as his PA?"

Evanna scoffed, her tone defiant.
"Are you crazy? I am Evanna Lawson! There’s no way I will work under him, that too as his PA."

Olivia nodded in understanding, expecting nothing less from her friend.

“But…”

“But?”
Olivia urged her to continue.

“I want to work,"
Evanna admitted with a hint of sadness.
"I mean, it's so boring here. I've already explored all the places, and without working, there isn’t any way to spend time."

"Why don’t you come back here then?"
Olivia suggested warmly.
"You can stay at my apartment instead of Wilder House until you guys find a house to shift."

Evanna considered the offer before nodding.
"I will think about it."

Shifting her focus to Olivia, Evanna asked,
"Any updates on the case?"

Olivia took on a professional demeanor as she replied,
"We questioned the maid, and she's currently in custody."

"What did she say?"
Evanna inquired.

Olivia sighed, explaining,
"According to her, on the night of your wedding ceremony, someone wearing a mask approached her. They gave her sedative powder and some cash."

"And then?"
Evanna pressed.

"The maid admitted to mixing the powder into Martin's drink in the study room before Alan went to talk to him."
Olivia continued, shaking her head.
"After that, she went to disable the CCTV in the control room. It's my theory that while she was occupied, the real killer entered and the tragedy occurred."

"The maid is still being questioned, and a sketch artist is working on creating a composite of the man based on her description."
She concluded.
"Now, all we can do is wait for the sketch to be ready."

"How ironic!"
Evanna mused to herself.
"Just for some mere bucks, they gave up their loyalty and put my father's life at stake."

"So, once they have the sketch, what's the next step?"
Taking a breath, she asked.
