EEP! My very first Broadway one-shot! EEP! I'm bouncing up and down. This is for yellowwolf56. I hope you enjoy it!

The cold floor burned under her cut cheek. Her lip was swollen to twice it's normal size, and busted open to add to the pain. Her red hair was matted and tangled, her green eyes were wide with fear, and dried tear stained her dirty face.
This was only her second night here and she had seen children half her young age of 16 get beaten and tossed back into the room with 20 other children. Her back ached from the whippings, she couldn't even stand to her tall stature.
She wished she was home with Davey. When she first met the walking mouth, she was not very impressed. He was a pessimist and didn't dream like Jack did. Yet, the more she got to know him, the more she found out why he was such a realist and a pessimist, he didn't get to have a normal teenage life, he was having to care for his family while his father's condition grew worse and worse, and the more she found out about him the more she found herself falling for him.
To help her seem like a nice person, not that she wasn't it's just that her personality turned people off (A/N: I would know I have the same personality). Any who, To make her seem like a nice person she decided to be his little brother's selling supervisor, someone to look after him and help him if he got into trouble, and boy did he get in trouble two days ago. Less had decided to pick a fight with the Delancey's while she wasn't looking, by the time she looked poor Les had been beaten to an almost pulp with Oscar's brass knuckles. Rage filled her system when she saw poor Les on the ground, she ran over to the two douches ((sorry for the language)), and punched both square in the face. Breaking Morris's nose and she was pretty sure she bruised Oscar's pretty badly. Unlucky for this girl, the police were watching the Delancey's, and when they saw her punch them, she got a one way ticket to the refuge.
Which is how she ended up here. Most kids here have already given up, but not her. Not Luna Fett. She would get out of here, count on it. Yet, there were so many children here. How could she get out with out any of them noticing. Her eyes lit up with an idea, it was just crazy enough it may work.

*3rd person with Davey* (wow this chapter is full of firsts. First POV change!)

Davey paced the floor of the lodging house common room, Jack sat in the corner wringing his cap in his hands and Katherine stood behind him rubbing his shoulders with a concentrated look on her face, all the boys were crowded into the small area, and no one made a sound. This was the second day that Moon had been in the refuge, and no one knew how to get her out.
"We gotta do something Jack." Davey stopped pacing and looked worriedly at the corner.
"I don't see what we can do. Dere are guards surrounding dat place! Even more so dat it's bein' shut down in a few years." Jack looked up at Davey. "It kills me ta dink what dey would do ta Looney dere, but... She's a smart goil, she'll find a way outta dere."
Just as unsettlement resounded over the Newsies, there was a loud, rapid, knock on the door.
All the boys were shell shocked, only Katherine had the guts to move, unlock the door, and open it a smidgen to see who was out there. As soon as the young woman looked out she threw the door open to catch someone on the outside. Jack and Davey bolted to see why Katherine had dropped to the floor, but as they neared her Davey suddenly wished he hadn't come over.
Katherine was cradling a body. Without even looking Davey knew it was her, it was Luna. He closed his eyes and turned his head away, not willing to look at her, to see what damage that horrible place had done to a beautiful girl.
Davey stood to the side as Jack carried her into the room. Her green eyes were shut one swollen that way, her red hair was tangled and matted to the cuts on her face, and her arms and legs hand many nasty bruises on them. The boys scattered as Jack carried her past the common room and upstairs into his and Crutchie's room.
It only had a few mattresses on the floor, but it was pretty tidy compared to what the other bunk room looked like. Jack placed Luna down onto the bed as carefully as he could, Katherine had gone to fetch hot water, cloth, and bandages. Katherine may not know how to cook, but she was an excellent nurse of injuries.
As Katherine returned, the room was dead silent. All the Newsies crowded around the base of the staircase, and stayed completely silent. Davey leaned against the doorway with Crutchie as she washed away the blood on Luna's face, mended her busted lip, and even bandaged the whipping marks on her back.
When she finished, Katherine turned to Jack and he enveloped her in a hug as silent sobs racked her body. Crutchie removed his cap, and Davey stood there staring and at the girl who lay, meekly alive on the mattress.
Davey couldn't take it anymore, he rushed to the window and started to climb up to the fire escape. He reached the roof, which Jack had reluctantly showed him a few weeks ago, and proceeded to cry. There were a few reasons to this: 1.) He was angry at her
2.) He was relieved that she was alive
3.) He was scared for her
4.) He should've been with her when the fight with the Delancey's happened.

Okay, the Broadway Davey is Davey from the Tour, Jacob Kemp. When I finished this, I was at 1014 words. I'm sorry it's so long. It would have been longer if I hadn't broken it up into two parts... Okay, well I hope you enjoyed it! First Broadway One-shot, and I noticed something as I started to write this.
