Just wanted to write this "chapter" out with a few in depth warnings, both narratively and general trigger warnings. I'll also attempt to add warnings or author's notes before each chapter that include sensitive topics or violence. There will be horror/thriller elements in this story, but overall will be a dark(ish) romance.
Fun fact: This was originally going to be a ReaderxAlastor story but I personally didn't think anyone could relate to Dorothy's character. If you do, then that's fantastic, more power to you. She also kind of took on a life of her own after working on this story since the original pilot was posted onto YouTube... I have revised this story five times at this point, and it is still currently being written, and potentially rewritted as I get more inspiration.
This is also a rather slow build up as the first 14 chapters are dedicated to building up the setting as well as fleshing out Dorothy and developing her character. I suppose you could consider this a mini spoiler, but Alastor is not formally introduced till chapter 17. This story is also set in the 1920s, some of the values and beliefs that certain characters hold will reflect as such. There will be some topics of gender discrimination and stereotypes, but overall you could say it's not THAT historically accurate.
I am fully aware and embracing of Alastor's aro/ace identity, which will for the most part be respected and explored during the course of the story. But this is a fictional romance of my own creation, so he may or may not engage in certain adult activities, narratively speaking. I also do NOT condone any glorification or justification of the crimes or relationships that occur in this story, once again this is simply a work of fiction meant to entertain or even disturb the reader. But I do want to stay true to and explore Alastor's serial "hobby".
This story is also written as a prequel/first installment and will have a follow up that takes place in hell, before and during the events of Hazbin Hotel. So if you like this story, you have that to look forward to. There will be no spoilers from the show in THIS story, so feel free to read even if you haven't been able to catch up to the series.
