Yang: I should've been stronger. I should've been able to control myself!
Blake: Yang, it's not about being perfect or never making mistakes.
Blake: We all have moments when we fall short..
Blake: 'I know it too well..'
Blake: But, that doesn't mean we're failures.
Yang looked up at Blake, the tears now streaming freely down her face, her vulnerability laid bare.
Yang: I just... I can't help feeling like I let everyone down. Like I let him down.
Yang: If I could've just controlled my ego, maybe then he wouldn't need to come to help me. I bet he thinks I'm incompotent.
Blake: He doesn't think of you like that, Yang. None of us do.
Blake: We both know you did what you did because you care, that you'd do anything, no matter what happens to yourself.
Blake sat down next to Yang, the bed dipping slightly under their combined weight. She placed a reassuring hand on Yang's shoulder, offering her presence as a steady anchor.
Blake: You're not alone in this. We're a team, and we're here to support each other, through everything.
Blake's words seemed to penetrate the fog of Yang's self-doubt, offering a glimmer of solace in the storm of her guilt.
Blake: Do you still remember what you said to me back then?
Blake: "If we destroy ourselves in the process, then what good are we?"
Blake: Those words, they meant something to me, and they mean something now.
Blake: I learned that we can't carry the weight of the world on our own shoulders. It's okay to lean on each other, to share the burden.
Yang looked at Blake, the sincerity in her friend's eyes a balm to her wounded spirit. She gave a small, tentative smile, a spark of hope rekindling within her.
Yang: Thanks, Blake. I needed to hear that.
Blake: Anytime.
Yang: Heh, I can't believe you'd use my own words against me.
Blake: (smiling) Well, they were pretty good words.
Yang chuckled softly, the sound a welcome relief in the heavy atmosphere.
Yang: (sigh) I think I'm ready to come out now.
Blake: Good. Everyone's been really worried about you.
Yang: I guess I owe them an apology, huh?
Yang: Thanks, Blake. For staying with me.
Blake: I just wanted to return the favor.
They walked out of the room together, side by side. As they made their way down the hallway, they were greated by Ruby who's holding a bowl of cookies.
Whilst having one in her mouth.
Ruby's eyes lit up as she saw Yang and Blake approaching. She quickly swallowed the cookie she was munching on and rushed over to them, holding out the bowl with a big smile on her face.
Ruby: Yang! You're finally out! I made you cookies!
Yang: Heh, of course you did.
Yang: Wait.. how.. many did you eat?
Ruby: Oh, just a few...
Yang raised an eyebrow, giving Ruby a suspicious look. Ruby fidgeted, her sheepish smile growing wider under Yang's scrutiny.
