Maisarah's hand jerked roughly when she realized she was being distracted by the antics of that guy. Maisarah's demeanor changed to irritation as her breath quickened slightly. She didn't like what Tengku Qayyum was doing. It's as if Tengku Qayyum was trying to soften her heart, which was as hard as a rock.

"I never agreed to this marriage," Maisarah said sharply.

"But I did," Tengku Qayyum replied quickly, staring at Maisarah's annoyed face. Maisarah seemed to be strongly against him. Yet, other women blushed as if they were eager to be courted.

Maisarah snorted. "What guarantee does Tengku give if I marry Tengku?" Maisarah asked fiercely, crossing her arms. Her eyes pierced into the golden-brown irises of Tengku Qayyum. Maisarah wanted assurance after living with Tengku Qayyum as a wife.

Would she be happy or the opposite? It would be a big problem if Maisarah just accepted it like that. Moreover, Tengku Bunga is Tengku Qayyum's younger sister. She and Tengku Bunga are enemies. They have never gotten along since they met face to face.

Maisarah didn't want to make the same mistake twice. Perhaps she was a woman who no longer had hope in marriage, but at least Maisarah wanted to know what it felt like to have a life partner by her side for the rest of her life.

"We never knew each other, Tengku. I don't know you, and you don't know me. How could we get married so early? I don't love you, and you don't love me either. What's the point of this marriage? Responsibility because of my trick?"

Tengku Qayyum didn't answer. He leaned against the wall and hugged himself, looking at Maisarah's stern face without any expression. He just let Maisarah make her own assumptions.

"If you knew it was my trick, why didn't you try to stop it? Do you really want to marry a woman who isn't your acquaintance? Someone... someone you've never loved! And another thing, I'm the enemy of your sister. Tengku Bunga Qaseh. Have you ever thought about what would happen if we met face to face? Hm?" Maisarah argued at length, completely disregarding if anyone was listening.

Tengku Qayyum's left ear twitched as he accidentally heard faint whispers from outside the delivery room. He was sure Maisarah didn't hear the whispers because she was too preoccupied with her own assumptions. Tengku Qayyum shook his head. Maisarah was really stubborn. He didn't even know why he fell in love with Maisarah.

"Maisarah Az-Zahra..." Tengku Qayyum called out, dragging his words, hoping Maisarah would stop this useless drama.

Maisarah stopped rambling. She sighed and averted her gaze, arms hugging herself. She really didn't want to look at Tengku Qayyum's face. Her heart was hot. Burning hot. She felt like exploding right now.

"I didn't stop it because it's my chance to get you. Why would I reject it just like that?" Tengku Qayyum held back a smile as Maisarah's eyes darted to him. She might be surprised.

"You..."

"Your accusations are self-defeating, Maisarah. Look at the result. I have to take responsibility for touching you. And when I have to take responsibility, it means I have to become the husband of Crown Princess Maisarah Az-Zahra. What you did, Mai, is astonishing. You made me your husband without even chasing me first."

Maisarah looked at him disdainfully. If it weren't for the fact that they were in a public place, she would have shut down Tengku Qayyum's seemingly flirtatious mouth long ago. He really had no shame!

"I won't let go of this opportunity."

Tengku Qayyum's and Maisarah's eyes met. One calm and the other fierce. Maisarah shook her head faintly, her eyes narrowing further.
