Kanon stared at him, dumbfounded. "A spy?" she asked.

Hero grinned brightly at her. "You could be a great spy! With your relations to Nicholas, you could easily get insider information."

Kanon sighed. "Okay. I'll be a spy."

"Wow. That took a lot less convincing than I expected. Well, anyway, let's go to Pokra!"

Without warning, Hero takes a pinch of the sparkling magic out of his pouch and throws it up again, making the world around them spin. Kanon closed her eyes, and when she opened them, they were in a cozy cabin. There's a warm fire going in the fireplace that sends a glowing light throughout the room. Surrounding them are other elves. Kanon could barely believe this was happening.

An elf with green hair down to her chin steps up, her polka dot skirt swaying as she walks. "Hero, I said I wanted you to get information. Not kidnap her." She spoke in Pokran. A wave of nostalgia came over Kanon as she heard the language again.

Hero laughed. "I didn't kidnap her!" He threw his arm around her. "She's our new spy!"

The others looked at him in disbelief. "Are you. Fucking. Crazy!?" A girl with bright red eyes exclaimed loudly. "Do you really think she wants to help us? She's the daughter of the crazy person we're trying to get rid of!"

Kanon glared at her. "Quiet your big mouth."

"You asshole!" The red eyed girl shouted. The green haired one pulled her back.

"Addie. Calm down." she said. "Hero, may I speak with you for a moment?" Hero didn't get a chance to answer before she pulled him aside. Kanon looked around the room awkwardly.

"Uhm... hello." An elf with blue braided pigtails hesitated. "My... name is Rose." She seemed shy, and Kanon wasn't sure whether it was because of her relation to Austin or if Rose was just shy in general. She continued. "Uh... this is Rowan, Lofe, Adelina, and my brother Kipu." She gestured to four elves. Rowan, Adelina and Lofe glared at her with suspicion, while Kipu smiled nervously.

"She seems like kind of a bitch." Rowan whispered up to the much taller Lofe with the assumption Kanon wouldn't hear. And she decided she'd pretend she hadn't. She wasn't surprised at what he said in fact, as many people had said things like that about her before.

"And... uhm, the other one, that one with the green hair, her name is Erryn. She's our leader." Rose finished.

The room filled with an awkward silence, though Kanon somewhat enjoyed the lack of socializing.

After a couple of minutes, Erryn and Hero walked back into the room. "I have decided that we will give you a chance. One. Only because of how useful of an asset you could be to us."

Kanon let out a breath she didn't know she was holding. "Thank you." she said in a monotone voice. "I won't let you down." As soon as she said that, she began panicking internally. What if she did let them down? She'd never be let back into Pokra again. Maybe this was a bad idea. Maybe she should just leave now and forget about all of this. It's probably too late now to do anything anyway-

No.

She had to do this. It was the only way she could help. Even if it didn't work out and everyone died, she refused to sit back and watch it happen. She had to do something.

"As for now," Erryn broke Kanon out of her thoughts. "I think you probably have places to be." Before Kanon could say anything, Erryn took some magic out of her pocket and threw it towards Kanon. The world started spinning in that familiar way and she ended up back at her school.
