chapter 2: Why Moon Goddess?

Third person's point - Mia had been sitting in her room for three days now. No news came back yet from the troops, from Dustin. Even though no one spoke it out loud you could see the unspoken words on their sad faces fearing that they would never see the men they sent in ever again. But Mia knew that he was safe and he was coming back for her she could feel it in her heart, her Dustin would never abandon her.

Days turned into weeks still no news not even a letter was sent .

Dustin pov

I went on a walk to clear my head, I was hurting so deep because I had not been able to send a word to Mia to let her know that I was fine and that was because it would have been to risky at this point in time with the war so tense.
We as the troops had to be believed to be missing.

I had only hoped that she was okay. I was going crazy thinking of her and not being able to go to her. I was walking and stopped dead in my tracks. I smelt this sweet smell of morning dew and cinnamon sticks, I knew what that meant. The one thing I feared I found my "mate"

"Mate?" I heard a sweet voice whisper, I slowly lifted my head and instantly locked eyes with the most beautiful set of green ones I'd ever seen. She was so breath taking I was frozen and could look away.

I heard her giggle, I seen that glow in her eyes. I could feel her gentle touch and I could feel her shy kiss on my lip, taste her kiss on my lips.....
"Mia," I whispered quietly to myself and took several steps away from my mate who now looked as if the world had crushed
But I couldn't do this no, I would never, I could never abandon Mia, she's been abandoned by all those that should of protected her and now I the one who promised to never leave her is looking at another the way I should only look at her.

Why Moon Goddess, why now ? Why give me a mate, why now?

My pretty little mate took slow steps as if she was afraid to spook me, she kept her pace very slow till she stood Infront of me. Her hand came up and gently touched my chest. I stood there not moving at all just staring down at her . She smiled an unsure smile, she smiled a shy smile and then she gently put her hand to my cheek .
I felt the sparks, I felt them everywhere she touched and I knew she could feel those same currents running through her arm by the glow that appeared in her eyes.

Ace Pov

Few minutes before Dustin found his mate.....

I watched as my sister was smiling at the pups/ kids . She was laughing at whatever they were telling her . My eyes then shifted and landed on my dearest friend Dustin who was walking not to far away but his mind was some place far.

I knew he was hurting and I could see that he missed the human girl, but how was I to fix it , with this war, him being my beta I couldn't lose him , my pack couldn't lose him. I had been watching him over the past two weeks that his been home and I have seen my friend become more and more distant, the saddness in his eyes growing with each passing minute.

I was brought out of my thoughts as I watched my sister taking small steps to Dustin as if approaching an injured animal, afraid to frighten it off.

"Mia" even tho it was a whisper as werewolves we had supe hearing and I heard that name out loud as if he were speaking it directly Infront of me . I could read it on their faces from her shy smile and his pained eyes they were mates.
My sister and best friend were destined and promised mates, true mates.
