The sunflower

In my garden, roses bloomed so bright,
But a sunflower caught my sight one night.
When storms raged on, and petals fell,
The sunflower stood, a resilient spell.

Though not as pretty as roses, it's true,
Its warmth and kindness shine right through.
So I picked it up, with gentle care,
And placed it where its light could share.

For you, who feel unseen and small,
Know you're like the sunflower, standing tall.
In a garden of roses, you may be,
But your kindness shines, for all to see.  In a garden of roses, you may stand apart,
But your warmth and kindness capture the heart.

So fear not, dear one, your worth is clear,
Like the sunflower, your light's sincere.
For amidst the beauty, it's you I'd choose,
To brighten my days, and chase away blues.

For the people who feel like they'd be the last flower that gets picked .....I promise to choose you in the field full of pretty roses not because you ain't pretty but because you make me feel a little warmer and better ❤️
