shotaro has kept a small box of mints in his backpack. one day, the box runs out of mints, and he thought this would be a great opportunity to express his love for his longtime crush, park wonbin.
wonbin entered onto the bus with sohee, so shotaro ended up sitting next to lucas, which wasn't a bad thing at all. they'd grown closer over this past year.
"so, how are you and mr. park over there?" he immediately asked, seemingly forgetting the fact that wonbin was right behind them. "how...steamy have things been between you two?"
"oh, there's been no steaminess." shotaro dismissed quickly before lucas spread any rumors like wildfire. "wonbin is on the aromantic spectrum, which means he's not too romantic in nature, but he is still capable of loving, yknow. i just so happened to be that person."
lucas pouted, almost disappointed. "so you guys haven't...you know..."
"oh god, no!" shotaro laughed, plugging in his portable charger with an infectious smile. "he's also asexual. pretty sure he won't be wanting any of that anytime soon."
"well then doesn't that just make your relationship boring?" lucas' question hung in the air for a moment as Shotaro considered his response.
"dunno. probably to some people," shotaro replied, "but for us, it's anything but boring. wonbin has his own ways of showing affection, and i really love him, so i will respect his boundaries in any way i can."
wonbin, who had been quietly listening, finally spoke up. "yeah. our relationship may not be like the typical romantic thing, but it works for both of us."
lucas nodded, understanding. "cool, cool. you guys are cute together." shotaro grinned. "oh, i think we're arriving at the—oH MY GOD IT'S HAMILTON!"
"that's thomas jefferson, idiot." ricky spat, going back to reading on his kindle.
