I'm sorry.

She looked at him, her voice barely above a whisper.

As she cleaned his face, hands, feet and neck, her touch was tender. She stood up and hurried out and came back with some clothe.

She dranched the clothe in the water and placed it on his forehead. As she continued her work, she gazed at him softly and bent over and placed another tender kiss on his forehead. She pulled back and reached out, her hand touched his forehead and she let out a small sigh of relief.

Kam hai thoda.

She said, her voice tinged with relief.

Hours passed by but Abhira couldn't sleep. She just kept gazing at him. She didn't had any idea how many hours had passed. She was tired, drained but couldn't sleep even a wink. Her head ached but she seemed to care less.

Armaan wake up na.

She pleaded, her voice chocked as she held back her tears.

She wiped her tears and breathed out. Then she gently reached out to touch his forehead murmuring gentle words under her breath.

It's better.

Abhira said, her voice trembling with relief. Her eyelashes felt extremely heavy and she held onto his hand a little more tightly, her grip flattered and she blinked her eyes to fight the tug of sleep but gave in despite her best efforts to stay awake.

Her head fell onto his stomach, a sigh escaped her lips before sleep consumed her completely.

The sunlight filtered through the curtains burning Armaan,s sleepy eyes and Armaan opened his eyes but immediately closed them feeling the sun rays burning his eyes. He blinked them a few times to clear his vision and opened his eyes then. He felt a weight on his stomach and looked down.

Despite the lingering traces of pain and weakness, a genuine smile spread across his face as he watched Abhira sleeping on his stomach. Her head rose and fell with each breath he took.

He felt his heart swell with warmth as he realized that she was here for him, she took care of him, she handled him when he NEEDED someone. He couldn't help but notice the dark circles under her eyes, her pale form and his heart ached. Regret flooded through his heart as he realized that she didn't sleep because of him. He was ill and she was taking care of him.

But he felt a part of his heart swell with tenderness and gratitude knowing that she was there for him when he needed her.

He reached out, his hand stopping just before his hair. He looked at her for a moment hesitant but then feeling a surge of courage, he burried his hand in her hair. He looked at her for any sign of discomfort or resistance but got none. He then started running his hand through the silky strands of her hair. He couldn't help but sigh marveling the softness of her hair. His touch hesitant but tender as he felt a wave of warmth and belonging wash over him. His heart felt full with the weight of the tenderness and acceptence it carried. He smiled still running his hand through her hair, his eyes brimming with tenderness, acceptence and an undefinable emotion as he continued gazing at her tracing the contours of her beautiful features with his eyes.

A hum escaped Abhira,s lips and she opened her eyes blinking them a few times to clear her vision.

When she opened her eyes fully, she stood up, concern etched across her features.

Armaan.

Abhira called out, her voice filled with a mixture of sleep and worry.

Tum theek ho?

She asked, her concern evident but he could say anything, she reached out and gently touched his forehead.

Bukhar lag toh nahin raha.
