chapter two, opening.

AFTER MONTHS AND MONTHS OF REHEARSING AND PERFECTING THE SHOW, they were finally set to open. All press shots and promotional material was already released, and many people were happy that Rose would be starring in this. Along with that, many fans that others had gathered were absolutely thrilled to see this show.

Today, opening night, the cast got to the theater way before they needed to be. They just wanted to hang out before they opened, their nerves all radiating off of their body's.

As the time grew closer to the show the cast got their makeup, wigs, costumes and mics on. Multiple cast members were making sure they had everything they needed for their quick change ready, and making sure their props were able to be found.

The cast all got in their positions as the announcement that the show would begin sounded throughout the theater.

Lucky for Rose, she didn't have to be seen until two songs, so she mainly just waited backstage, out of the way so people could get through. Once it became time for her to get in her swing, she ran to it. She shook her nerves away as she felt herself start to be lowered. She heard Danny say his cue lines and she smiled. Preforming The Sparkling Diamond was one of Roses favorite things in this musical, she almost immediately fell in love with the song once she heard it.

The scenes between Christian and Satine went smoothly, and with the way they were acting you wouldn't be able to tell they hated each others guts.

The show went amazing, no mistakes or technical errors. The crowd seemed to be absolutely loving the show, especially Christian and Satine.

Rose forgot how good it felt to be on the stage, she forgot how much she loved it. Sure, she hated that she had to share it with someone as rude as Aaron, but she didn't mind all too much. She loved being there. No one could ruin that for her.

As she started to exit through the stage door she saw some people looking at her. She completely forgot that people would wait and get their playbills signed, or maybe a picture. She noticed Aaron was already there, as he sent the girl a subtle glare. The girl brushed that off and began to talk to people.

After she was finished she noticed Ricky walking up to her, "Cast is going out for drinks, wanna come?" He asks, smiling at the girl.

"Sure, I'd love to," Rose responded, following Ricky to the rest of the cast. Rose melted seamlessly into the cast, you would never know that half of these people were strangers to each other merely two months ago.

The night continued beautifully, the cast celebrated what was the first of many performances together. Naturally, most of them got at least a little tipsy. With that, Aaron and Rose couldn't help but continue glaring at each other, noting that the rest of their friends wouldn't be able to tell because of the drinks.

The two didn't even attempt to make small talk, they just were cruel to one another. Causing both of them to leave the bar pissed off.

As Rose began to leave, she realized that she would have to walk. The girl sighed before making her way home, she only walked for a few minutes before a car stopped next to her.

"You're walking?" Aaron asked, annoyed. The girl just rolled her eyes in response.

"Come on, get in," Aaron offered, leaning across his car to open the door for her. The girl just laughed. "What?" He asked in response.

"There's no way I'm getting in a car with you," Rose laughed, stopping in her tracks to look at Aaron.

"Rosie, get in."

"Don't call me that."

"Then get in. You're not walking home this late at night, in New York City."

"I'm perfectly capable of getting home safe."

"I believe that, what I'm not going to believe is that there not a creep out there waiting for a perfect opportunity. Get in, please."

"Fine," Rose caved, getting into Aaron's car. She shut the car door gently, but with enough force for it to actually close. The car was nice and she didn't want to break it. Aaron watched her as she got situated, and as soon as he heard the click of the seatbelt he drove.

What was really about 15 minutes felt like 15 hours, an awkward silence filling the once peaceful car. Finally, Aaron pulled up to Roses apartment building, which was surprisingly right next to his apartment building.

"Thank you, I appreciate it."

"No problem," Aaron said, leaving both him and Rose in an awkward silence. After a moment of looking at each other they quickly bid each other a good night.

Rose couldn't help but think, why the hell was Aaron so persistent about driving the girl home? Sure, New York could be a dangerous place at night, but why would Aaron care? For whatever reason, he did. And surprisingly, Rose was thankful for that. Who knows what could have happened to her had she not gotten in the car, for worse or for better.

AUTHOR SPEAKS !
Hello! So, as you may be able to tell I don't really write long chapters. I'm not a very good writer when it comes to length unless I'm hella motivated. So, the chapter sizes will be very inconsistent, but as of now I have this book planned for about 31 chapters so! Thanks for reading!
