Solace frowned in their sleep, their mind was racing. They couldn't tell what was up from down, or what left or right was... It felt like they were sinking into an abyss, with sounds being their only guide...
"Have you found the Jewel Sloth?!"
"What do you mean that it's not here?!"
"H! Please! Stop! It hurts!"
"No!"
"Let him go!"
"Tell me where the Jewel is, or he loses his other leg!"
"Ahhhhh!" Solace woke up screaming. Their head hurt, their Soul hurt, and they didn't know why...
"Solace?"
They looked up to see Break standing there, in his nightclothes, with a worried look on his face. "Are you okay?"
They shook their head.
Break sat down next to them, and he gently hugged them. "It's okay Kid, I've got you. You're going to be okay Solace. I promise."
Solace didn't know why, but they cried, as they buried their face in Break's chest, and the scarred Skeleton started to rock them back and forth, softly humming to them.
This comfort, these actions, they reminded them of someone...
But the memories behind that were like dust in the wind, slipping away from them as quickly as they had started to appear...
