Chapter 11

Minho went quiet for a moment and hummed as he forced himself to keep his smile up. The last thing he wanted to get reminded of, is how his parents didn't even care enough to take pictures of him. "Jisung-"

He paused again and looked into Jisung's eyes as he was looking for comfort, and it surprisingly worked. Jisung was so patient with him and held one of his hands while he nodded for him to continue.

"I was adopted. My mom only brought me in a few years ago." The male spoke quietly and looked down at their hands so he couldn't avoid seeing the look on his face when he told him. Not like he expected anything bad, he was mainly embarrassed about his situation.

Jisung gently rubbed his thumb against his hand and slowly nodded after Minho spoke up and hummed softly in response. He wasn't sure what the right thing to say was, he assumed it was most likely a sensitive subject for him and he wouldn't want to do anything to upset him. "What about your birth parents? Didn't they have anything of you?"

The younger shook his head and smiled a little while he played with his fingers in order to distract himself and Jisung in a way. He loved how he seemed so genuinely interested in him, but he hated answering questions about his past. His therapist already asked him too many. "Not really, I don't think they cared about those things. The only thing I have left is that." Minho said while pointing at the worn-out cat plush that was currently squished between Jisung and the wall.

He wasn't sure who gifted it to him, but he's had for as long as he could remember. He remembered how he used to cuddle up to it when he got upset and how much of a comfort it was when his mother left him. It was the only thing he had back then.

Jisung couldn't help but smile as he looked at the cat that looked like it got the life sucked out of him, but that only showed how much Minho loved it, which made it even more beautiful. "This one? It's adorable. It looks like you." He held the plush next to Minho's face and smiled at it before he let the kitty rest down on his chest.

"Come here." The older boy opened his arms and glanced at Minho before looking at his chest to let him know what to do. Minho didn't take long to make a decision and gently put his head down, his cheek squished against his chest.

Jisung took one of the other boy's hands and guided his arm so it could be wrapped around himself, since he noticed how Minho seemed a little hesitant to do anything else he decided to do it himself. "You know you can talk to me, right? I want to know everything about you one day. Even if you think it's bad, I'll always be there to listen to you."

With each second that passed by, the taller male seemed to get more perfect than he did before. There was something so comforting about him. He felt like he could tell him things that he wouldn't even tell his therapist, but something was still holding him back. It was that familiar knot in his throat again.

It stayed quiet for a short minute again. Jisung could tell how Minho was trying to speak up, so he wasn't going to interrupt him this time. Sometimes, he would take it upon himself to continue the conversation when he knew the other didn't know what to say. He didn't mind that. He liked the dynamic they had going on and assumed that Minho felt the same way.

"I just - I didn't have a good relationship with my birth parents. There's a lot that happened, but I don't like talking about it. My mom adopted me about two years ago and I'm getting better– She's great, everything is so much better now so I think I'll be okay."

Minho spoke quietly, like he was hesitant to talk about it, and in a way he was. He never spoke about what happened to anyone other than his therapist and his social worker after they found him. Opening up to him was a huge step for him, and Jisung was oh so proud. It felt like a huge honor to get trusted by him.

"Thank you for telling me, Min. I'm sorry for bringing it up, I had no idea. I'm proud of you for telling me, I promise I'll take care of you. We'll get through everything together."

That didn't all too bad to the younger. Knowing he didn't have to be in all of this by himself was so comforting. It's something his mom and therapist told him multiple times already but this is the first time he actually believed it and might even be comfortable enough to share his burdens with the other.

"Let's watch that movie now, hm? Anything specific you like?"

Jisung turned his head to the now forgotten laptop and placed it on top of his lap to get a better acces to his keyboard. Minho could care less about the movie they watched, he was already satisfied with having his friend's arms wrapped around him. "I don't mind, you can pick."  Minho was never the type to easily make decisions.

He hummed softly in response and just scrolled through the movies for a few minutes to make sure he would pick something they would both enjoy. Apparently Jisung had a thing for those cheesy old romantic comedies, specifically those with Adam Sandler. There was something so comforting about the happy endings and the way they always followed the same pattern, they were predictable, yet entertaining.

They ended up settling for 'Clueless'. It was one of his mom's favourite movies, she basically had the same taste in movies as him. They would definitely get along. Minho certainly didn't hate it either.

Even though he loved the movie and the moment in general, he found himself struggling to stay awake. He didn't get the best rest the other night so it was only natural to feel that way now. Jisung seemed to notice it as well and smiled down at the boy while he grabbed the covers and pulled them on top of them

The warmth of the blanket and Jisung's arms that were now holding him even closer, did not do him a favour either. He felt himself snuggling closer to him as Jisung leaned his head down on top of Minho's. He could hear his heart beating in his chest and focused on the noise, feeling himself calming down complex

It didn't take too much longer for him to fall asleep after that. Jisung wasn't oblivious to what was happening and just smiled down at the boy when he noticed and whispered his name to make sure he was asleep. He carefully turned the laptop off so the sound wouldn't wake his sweet boy up, he looked so peaceful and couldn't help but plant a kiss on top of his head while he gently brushed through his hair.

It was a shame that Minho wasn't awake to experience this moment, maybe it would be better for his poor heart. It might've jumped out of his chest if he knew what was going on right now.

Jisung stayed with him for some time, the boy wasn't sure when he left but he was nowhere to be found when he woke up a few hours later. All he knew was that he hasn't slept this well since- well since ever since he was alive.
