Dean's New Girlfriend Pt.2

Start from the beginning

"You mean like ask her how she was? Yeah, you probably made an enemy for life."

"Maybe she's angry because I didn't keep in touch after I left, but we weren't that good of friends."

"Maybe, or it could be that Chilton thing." Sabrina chimed in

"What Chilton thing?" Rory looked confused at her sister

"Well, you know how some people think because you went to Chilton, you're a snob and think you're better than everyone else." Sabrina shrugged

"What? Who thinks that?"

"Well, you know, like uh, Julie Lersten, Kristin Keiffer, Jill Allen. Haven't we talked about this?"

"No!?"

The girls carried their food back to their seats. Jess was now sitting back up, but was still using Sabrina's coat to keep him warm.

"And you told me not to buy the jacket" Sabrina laughed

"I don't know what you're talking about." Jess awkwardly coughed and shoved the coat back in Sabrina's arms.

"How's the game going?" Lane asked

"The other team's winning" Jess replied

"Bummer"

"But our fans have the best insults. At least, Babette does." Jess shrugged

"I bet, she can be cruel" Sabrina laughed

Later in the game Rory and Sabrina left again to get more food.

"If I had known sports were so much about eating, I would've come to a lot more of these." Sabrina said sitting back down next to Jess

"I know. There's something deeply satisfying about watching other people exercise while eating junk food." Rory agreed

"Ten minutes til the next period, ladies and gentlemen. That's what we call them in hockey periods, not halves. Let's try to keep that straight. Also, the puck is never referred to as a ball, not according to the book. Again, my bad." Kirk announced

The three girls and Jess see Dean skating off the ice rink. Lindsay rushes up to him and they start kissing. Everyone turns to look at Rory.

"I guess it wasn't the Chilton thing after all." Lane says trying to break the tension.

The game continues and Lane and Rory eventually decide to get up to go to the bathroom.Unfortunately there was a line they had to wait in.

"You sure you're okay?" Lane asked, she was also unaware of the incident between Dean and Sabrina.

"Will you stop asking me that every five seconds? I'm fine. I mean, it had to happen sometime. I didn't expect him to just sit around pining for me. Okay, a little, but she's really nice, right?" Rory replied

"This is all my fault."

"Lane."

"I let you down. I'm supposed to be your eyes and ears in that school, and here's the biggest piece of news all year and I had no idea."

"It's okay."

"No, it's not. This is an intelligence gaffe of monumental proportions. What was I doing that I didn't notice this?"

"Studying, taking classes."

"Well, no more."

"Lane, it's not a big deal, really. And now I know, so, case closed."

"You're sure?"

"Positive. Let's just enjoy the game."

"it's back to the desert for the Minutemen, perhaps for another forty years. Of course, by then, I'll be seventy years old. A lot of the rest of you will probably be dead. Taylor, you'll be dead. Babette, Miss Patty. . .that man there in the hat." Kirk announced as the game ended, with the Stars Hallow  High team losing.

"Too much slushie" Sabrina held her stomach and ran towards the bathroom.

Jess grabbed her purse and followed behind. Lane left to go see if Dave was still playing at Mrs. Kim's church function. Rory was left standing by herself not sure what to do, but then Dean came over to her.

"Hey" Dean said

"Dean. Hey, how are you? Oh, God, that's a stupid question to ask someone who just lost the regional semi-finals, isn't it? And now it sounds like I'm rubbing your face in it." Rory nervously rambled

"Don't worry about it. They were better than us, they deserved to win."

"So, I ran into Lindsay."

"Yeah, I hadn't quite figured out how to tell you that."

"Well you didn't have to, but I think it's great."

"You do?"

"Absolutely. I mean, she's cute and smart and really nice."

"I know."

"Like once, in fourth grade, we went on a field trip to Mark Twain's house, and I really wanted this refrigerator magnet in the shape of Mark Twain's head, but I didn't have any money, so she bought it for me, and she wouldn't even let me pay her back. Pretty classy for a fourth grader."

"That sounds like Lindsay."

"Exactly. So, good job, mister."

Sabrina stumbled out of the bathroom and fell into Jess' arms.

"Hey you okay?" Jess said trying to catch Sabrina

"Why didn't you stop me from eating" Sabrina groaned

"You threatened to bite me"

"Ummm no...let's go" Sabrina stood up straight and began to walk off

Once they got into Jess' car, Jess handed Sabrina some earplugs.

"Earplugs? Are you saying I'm too loud?" Sabrina acted overly offended

"No of course not, I got tickets to the Distillers."

"What!? No way, for when?"

"For tonight"

"Oh my god! I love you forever!" Sabrina squealed and pulled Jess into a hug

"I love you forever" Jess repeated

"Hey you know what goes great with a Distillers concert?" Sabrina said trying to contain her smile

"What?"

"My fur coat!" Sabrina laughed
