Genre: P o p ( but make it dark *dun dun* )
I wrote this about when you're unable to determine the right decision when it comes to love... and there's 2 ways this could go. If you make the wrong decision, it can lead to downright doom. I couldn't help but to feel amused by the saying 'Beware The Ides Of March' and how there are constantly warning signs that we'll tend to ignore. How do we know if the choice that we're making is right? The thing is we don't know for sure, we just must keep straying ahead with the decision we're making... even if the consequences that lie ahead are fatal and brutal.
1ST VERSE:
Doomsday has approached, should I keep an eye on the road?
Making the wrong decision can be life-changing
And there's two ways this could go
Oblivious to consequences, believing I hold omniscience
Risk being dead to you, which would I know would stab the most
Or lay low with you, hidden from the coast
CHORUS:
Beware the ides of March taking a toll on this heart
Dare I listen? No, not even in the start
When words written ( are ) so distant
Now comes forthwith brutal aftermath shot in the dark
Inner intuition set off into intermission
Did I take it too far? Now it's time to depart
Farewell these ides of March
2ND VERSE:
If it's fate, can I even escape it?
Simply not meant to be, yet I cherish you so sacred
Cause there's misery pinned to anything sweet
And your presence is only tempting me
Only time can alter my perception
I would've gladly allowed you to be my exception
But would it merely have been a misconception?
CHORUS:
Beware the ides of March taking a toll on this heart
Dare I listen? No, not even in the start
When words written ( are ) so distant
Now comes forthwith brutal aftermath shot in the dark
Inner intuition set off into intermission
Did I take it too far? Now it's time to depart
Farewell these ides of March
BRIDGE:
I've crossed upon all the warning signs
Leading up to our fatal demise
But I don't think I'll change my mind this time
Impending doom leads me to falling for you
Even when it stabs and pierces through my heart
32 times yet I don't mind the scars
For you, I'd forever fall apart
Just for you to put me back together again
CHORUS:
Beware the ides of March taking a toll on this heart
Dare I listen? No, not even in the start
When words written ( are ) so distant
Now comes forthwith brutal aftermath shot in the dark
Inner intuition set off into intermission
Did I take it too far? Now it's time to depart
Farewell these ides of March
