We reached our new home which was also known as little India. Our house was in Edison a township located in Middlesex Country, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. Situated in Central New Jersey.we lived in the Oak tree road thankfully it had many Indian restaurant and stores for our daily requirements. When we reached our new home it was a street that had twelve houses six on each side of the road our was the third house which was in the middle and as soon as I got down from the cab I saw a huge bunglow just opposite ours it was a narrow street so all the houses were quite near and at equal distance my dad was busy unlocking the door and shifting our luggages inside one by one carefully and I went Inside our new home and looked around each and everything very carefully I finally had my personal room back in India we lived in small two bedroom apartment so it was difficult for me to even have my own personal space but here it was spacious bedroom with my own closet room with attached toilet- bathroom and also it had an window which faced towards the opposite side of our neighborhood and ya just opposite to that huge bunglow which I was talking about earlier. I stepped in the balcony to get some fresh air and suddenly my mom shouted from the downstairs to come down and I went inside and ran down the stairs in a hurry my dad and mom were sitting in the living room and having a cup of tea and I was called to have some. Our few days passed in unpacking and arranging stuffs accordingly and yes I got admission in the Edison high school which was 15 mins away from my house. Few days passed after settling down our parents decided to give small housewarming gifts to our neighbours for establishing good relationship and it is believed in India that neighbours are important in living in different place away from relatives because they come to help first in any problems as they are near to us and your gift will show great hospitality and make a positive impression on them. So my mom made some sweets for them and both of us went together to all the houses one by one. All were Indians and hopefully all were really good in nature, we all became like family in just few days itself we all helped eachother and looked after one. Half year passed and everything went back to normal I used to go new school which was co-ed and I from childhood have studied in girls school so I had zero interaction with boys and in school too I felt shy so I never spoke to them I made few girl friends and we used to hangout together in school and sometimes after school I started interacting and taking part in school events and become quite popular for showing my talents in every field I became member of the dance club and also was in the school volleyball team, teachers infact started liking me for showing enthusiasm and determination in everything I did. Our routine was fixed everyone was busy with their own work and soon I got my first winter vacation. It was my first experience of the winter season in US my parents and I went to shop winter clothes because back in India we lived in coastal region with humid climate so we never had any interaction with jackets, mufflers, gloves and boots I felt excited to wear them and enjoy snow.....
