A/N: This is part two to the previous chapter Roller Skating. Technically, you could read this without reading the first one, but reading the first one provides a lot of context. Enjoy :)

"So, Al, you met the girl Theo's been pining over?" Scott switched topics as they sat in the loud cafeteria during lunch.

"Ooh, pining," Theodore interjected, "That's a big word for you, Scott."

Scott flipped him off and looked back at Allen for an answer. He wouldn't be swayed into dropping the subject that easily.

"Yeah, she's an asshole, so she's just his type," Allen joked.

"She's not an asshole," Theo defended her honor.

"She's not," Allen admitted. "But she'll put him in his place if she needs to."

"Sounds like you found a keeper," Scott toed the line of being sarcastic and genuine.

"Well, it doesn't matter either way because we're just friends."

"I think she likes you, too," Allen said.

"She just broke up with her boyfriend. I doubt she's looking to get into something new that soon."

"Maybe so, but that doesn't mean she doesn't like you anyway."

"Allen has a point," Scott agreed. "You two might not be ready to get into a relationship, but the feelings are there all the same. It's only a matter of time."

"We don't even see each other. This weekend was the first time in a long time. Our interactions are basically limited to texting," Theodore argued.

"That can change. Phone calls, video calls—those are options. And who's to say you wouldn't find more time for each other if you got together? I think roller skating opened the flood gates, and the two of you will make more of an effort to hang out now."

Theo shrugged, suddenly wanting to move away from the topic of conversation. It all sounded great and not actually all that far fetched. That didn't change the fact that AnnaMarie just got out of a relationship, and Theodore doesn't actually know if she likes him back.

Allen gave him a knowing look and said "Just think about it," before launching into talking about a video game the three of them have been playing a lot recently. Al knew his friend well enough to know that Theo would be fine. But he also knew he needed to talk about something more lighthearted right now to keep Theodore's thoughts from wandering too far.

With time, Theo would figure it all out. Some things would fall into place; it was just a matter of when, really.
