chapter 5~ work ethic

sebastian could only watch as you started to walk around the village. he now knew you spent your evenings with tom. he knew tom was flirting with you. "hes flirting again, its all over his face" sebastian spoke looking at ominis. "maybe its his personality" ominis bargained. 

"its shared trauma" austin cut into the conversation only to sprint up to you. sebastian following with ominis using his wand to locate where the hell everyone went. sebastian didnt know what the fuck was going on. 

"no shes stuck on some she was born to die type shit" tom spoke to austin. "its true, i was born to die early. not my fault" you said, sebastian just kept listening trailing behind the 3 of you. "im getting transferred anyway" you said looking at austin. "major creep he was, get this whole intent was to get in her pants" tom said laughing which made you laugh. 

"i believe it, i assume your family is the reason? we can go anyway" austin tried to reason. "its not up to me, its quicker" tom said earning a sigh out of you and now your walking through the village. "cursed" you heard a whisper. 

imagination or not it feels shitty. you felt a hand on your shoulder to see sebastian holding your shoulder. "uh...?" you spoke looking at him. "same exit, dont get mad at me" he was cocky in his tone. 

"cursed child" 

"okay who the fuck is saying it" you asked looking around seeing no one. "im losing my fucking mind" you followed up grabbing handfuls of your hair and groaning. when you looked everyone was sort of staring at you. "what? the fucking exit is there. dont look at me" you said rudely making everyone look forward. 

"get the fuck away from me" you heard that familar voice. and there tom was whipping out his wand and pointing it at your brother. "2 steps back jax" tom spoke you watched him put his hands up. "DONT LOOK" he yelled causing you to throw your head down. 

"just a quick one?" jax asked tom. "you know the penalty" tom answered. sebastians grip on your shoulder tightened. the second you looked up your eyes met. "DOWN" he yelled once more making you throw your head down. 

jax always thought if you looked you would be in pain. "you know i will jax, it will be hard to hide it" tom spoke. "quick" tom then backed everyone up.

sebastian wasnt happy about it, angry infact. he didnt know what was going on, the only thing he was thinking about is why we left you alone with someone who has a wand pointed at them. 

jax ran up and hugged you. "aw fuck i miss you so much" he spoke his hand resting on the back of your head. "i miss you to" you spoke back. "BACK" tom yelled but it was to late. you already felt the pain. "fuck this shit" you spoke out holding your chest right over your heart. 

with a tad throw up from the pain jax was trying his best to comfort you. "your not eating" he spoke rubbing your back. "fucking hell it hurts" you spoke up. jax left your side. "hit me" he spoke out. 

"CRUCIO" tom yelled and now jax was in pain and all you did was roll to your side in relief. only then to get a bloody nose. tom had to pull you away before crucio wore off. "dark magic?" ominis asked. "only way" tom spoke out. 

"why was she in pain" austin asked. "JAX" theres my sister again. "MUM, JAX" she yelled looking at you still laying on the floor. you wiped your nose with your sleeve as you saw your mother. "are you trying to get us killed jax really?" she spoke out pointing at you. "you wretched cursed child you, i told you to stay away from us" those words hit you straight in the heart. 

sebastian looked at you and back at your mother. "and your to speak why?" sebastian spoke up for you. "stay out of it, you have nothing to do with this" she yelled at him. "sebastian stay out of it" ominis warned him. "no, she doesnt get to call y/n a cursed child" he spoke more. 

"shes a cursed child. if shes near us we die. im protecting my daughter and son from this" she was still yelling at sebastian. the stream of tears down your face were apparent. "shes a useless child with nothing more then a killable curse" she grabbed your brother and sister dragging them away. "the nerve of some people" sebastian spoke.

he was going to say more until he saw your tears. "come on lets go" tom spoke pulling you up. "i did nothing, you know i did nothing." you spoke to tom. "like you said, youll be able to see him again one day" tom tried to reassure you. 

sebastian felt angry about this not at you but at jax. "if i didnt love him, i wouldnt be trying so hard" you followed up with it and it stung sebastians heart. like a knife right through it. he knew he liked you, but he didnt think he liked you this much. 

"he loves you to, but your mother fucking ruins that doesnt she" tom added. "so thats jax isnt it?" austin asked. "the one and only jax l/n" tom smiled saying his name. 

sebastian now felt stupid for being jealous. the more you walked the tired you got but you had to return to rookwood. you talked to austin about it while the other two talked to tom. 

you both split when the path changed. they were going to the three broomsticks and you were going to rookwood. 

it wasnt as bad as harlows, apart from the fact it was all dirty work he didnt want to do. you did get the impression he had a thing for you. "do you need food, it will be a long night" rookwood asked you. given the impression of him he had to have been only 23. 

"no thanks, i dont really eat dinner, im always busy you know" you answered him getting a weird look. "does he not feed you? when did you get released?" he asked you. "no he didnt, but he let me go when ever he wanted i guess" you answered honestly. 

"that wasnt the agreement, anywho...youll be staying for tonight, busy day tonight and tomorrow. you wont have time to sleep. and you didnt. 

sebastian sat at the three broomsticks even after austin and ominis left. "i know your here for her, shes not coming. she would have came by now sebastian" sirona spoke to him. "shes always here" he argued back. "she is yes, but...when shes in a pickle she doesnt always. and i have a feeling its a bad pickle" sirona spoke up. "check her dorm. if you dont see her come back to me" sirona spoke shooing sebastian off for the curfew hes already missed. 

he wants to know more about you, learn why you think the way you do, how you got cursed. even onimis was questioning why crucio had to be used, an unforgiveable curse. he figured when you trusted him more you would lay it on him. but he decided that tomorrow he will take you somewhere to talk. 

"rookwood sir" you spoke up watching him look at you. "the curse. ive kept my end up for 2 years now, when will it lift" you asked. "curse?" he asked. "yes harlow placed a curse on me remember? tom sent the owl" you reminded him. "oh yes right, i will get with harlow about it" he shot you a wink. 

it was then you saw how wrapped around your finger this man was.
