JIMIN POV

"And he's amenable to meeting me?" Dalsu asked, whipping
out his dictionary words.

Poor thing was so nervous.

And I didn't blame him.

We'd been very cautious of
the information we'd shared
with him when it came to his mother but he knew this
was a huge deal.

"He insisted on it." I kissed
his cheek.

"And we are on our pack lands, so if you ever need to run and clear your head, you may."

He looked to Jungkook and
then Joon for reassurance.

"What your dad says is accurate." Joon reassured him.

"This is our land and as
such, the rules are mine."

"But I don't think you'll want that."

"You don't?"

Dalsu swished his mouth the
way he did when he was
thinking too hard.

"Is that because you think my grandfather and I are similar enough we'll get along or is
it because you think he will
meet me and then drive off?"

Poor kid wasn't worried about
all the things Jungkook and I
and to some extent Joon was,
he was worried his grand
father wouldn't like him.

And the truth was, he might
not.

And that sucked.

"Hey, listen to me."

I squatted in front of him the
best I could with my belly
now the size of Nebraska.

"You are amazing and anyone who doesn't see that isn't
worth your time—ever."

"Your dad's right." Jungkook ruffled his hair.

"I guess."

Luther's wolf ran up to us in
the clearing and shifted as
he reached us.

"We ran the perimeter, alpha."

"No signs of anything to
worry about."

"But there was something."

Joon wasn't playing games.

Of course he wasn't.

This was the safety of his
pack—our pack.

"I did run into an omega but
he's gone."

He glanced at Dalsu and
Jungles took him to the side, distracting him with I didn't
even know what.

It was odd that he was
leaving me there, instead of himself or so I thought until Luther started in again.

Somehow Jungkook knew.

Maybe it was because he understood Luther or maybe
I missed a subtle clue but whatever it was, Jungkook
got it.

"And."

It wasn't a question, it was a command, one he gave after
Jungkook and Dalsu were far enough away.

"And I almost didn't let him leave." Luther tilted his head.

Had he broken a rule or something?

Why was he submitting?

So much to learn about wolves and now—I had all the time I needed to learn it all.

"You think he might be a danger."

That had my back up.

We had enough going on with our guests, we didn't need
more visitors.
