ruthless ~sebastian sallow x reader~

chapter 3 ~ antagonistic.

you had to get to harlow right as school let out which meant you missed your last class. leaving sebastian wondering. there was a certain burnette boy following you and austin without you guys even knowing. "its right here, but they are everywhere. be alert" you spoke to austin who gave you a nod. you helped him find one of the caves rookwood was set to dig out with ranrok. 

you were already late, but you knew showing up for it would be better then not. so you ran. no matter how much sebastian tried to keep up with you he couldnt. you could hope over trees and climb mountains if you wanted to. harlows made you. 

while you got punished with harlow, sebastian found his way back to the cave you had shown austin so then he appeared. "sallow what the hell are you doing here" austin spoke almost mad. "so you and y/n sneak off and she shows you caves? thats what the plan was? oh and she didnt fall in the forest. she can get around just fine" sebastian was equally as mad for a reason he didnt understand. 

the only problem is plans switched and now you and harlow were heading to that same cave. "y/n you first clear out anything in the way" harlow spoke sending you alone. you basically ran through it. your eyes falling on sebastian. "hes here...." you spoke which made austin grab sebastian and hide in a hole the cave had formed over time. 

you ran ahead to avoid anything on your part, to avoid a certain troublemaker from spilling it all. you never told anyone but sirona and sirona told austin. sebastian didnt understand what was going on until his mouth was covered and there he was. harlow. 

sebastian had even more questions now. until there was the fate of a spell and your scream in the distance. "here, now" his voice rung earning you to slowly walk back to him. with a hair grab he whispered so quietly. "your thinking about it, i wouldnt" and he let you go grabbing your shoulder with as much force as he could put. pushing you forward to go. 

sebastian wanted to yell, he wanted to fight. thats the person hes been hearing about so much and there he was pestering you. you wanted a different outcome, you never got it. harlow thought you were trying to escape. sebastian didnt understand why you put yourself in danger for them. 

the more you and harlow walked the faster they got out. sebastian looked at austin. "we have to" sebastian spoke. "we cant, its a death sentence. her fate is sealed sallow. lets go" austin spoke. "plus you hate her, thats all you talk about. whats with the concern" austin asked. 

sebastian didnt know, he just knew he didnt want you hurt. he didnt want you in pain or to suffer. he somehow saw everywall you built drop for these last 2 weeks going on 3. "i dont care about her, i care about the man whos dragging her like a dog. he might have been the one to hurt anne that night" sebastian was only half telling the truth. 

"she will be fine, shes strong lets go" austin started walking but sebastian was conflicted, he went with him to the three broomsticks. 

"your hiding something y/n what is it?" harlow spoke looking through the whole cave. "im not hiding anything. your just paranoid" you talked back, thats what you did best. you paid your back talks back all the time. but this time was different harlow was in a mood. he wasnt his usual self he was mad. and by you running farther into the cave only made it worse. 

you felt a sharp sting in your eye as his fist made contact with it. you knew it was going to bruise later. but your focus was survival, you had to obey for once. not that you were happy about it. 

sebastian was waiting impatiently to see you walk through those doors. he figured out you came here every night to talk about your day. but while he was waiting you were getting bossed around. you didnt end up being able to leave until 12 at night. 

you made your way there and when you when to open the door it was opened and you bumped into sebastian. you kept your head down not saying anything. "told you she was strong" austins voice rang through your ears. but when you looked at sirona her face told a different story. 

"y/n are you okay, that doesnt look good. let me get you some ice" sirona spoke which made the two boys sit next to you instead of leaving. you kept my head down. "y/n question" austin spoke but when he saw you his eyes widened. "holy hell y/n." he spoke touching your face turning it side to side looking at your eye. "im fine" you muttered out but when sebastian did the same as austin and grabbed your face to look at it. 

his facial expression was one youve never seen before. worry, you didnt know why he was looking at you so worried. but to sebastian he couldnt place why he was so concerned about it. sirona gave you a bag of ice to stick on your eye. "thanks" you muttered out drinking your butter beer. 

the boys were just looking at each other basically whisper yelling at each other over you. austin on your right sebastian on your left. when you finished your drink you left the money on the table and walked out the boys following behind. 

you got to your room and slammed the door getting out of your dirty clothes leaving to garreths room again. it was your favorite thing to do was go to his room. he would always leave the door open for you. even set up a little sleeping area for you. 

sebastian sat there on his bed with so much running through his head. "but why? why am i so concerned?" sebastian asked looking at ominis. "think super hard sebastian" ominis spoke back to him. "the bruises the black eye. harlow, you think shes protecting everyone from harlow? but why? why does she protect everyone?" sebastian asked more. 

"shes not protecting you sebastian, you were just there. she was warning austin" ominis voice rung through sebastians head. "but she never told. even when she could have" he was looking for reasons. reasons why youve never ratted him out. reasons why your putting your own life in danger for other people you cant stand. 

he wondered why he cant get you out of his head. the same person whos never made eye contact with him. he wonders why you wont look at him, why you wont hold a conversation, why you wont pay attention to him like everyone else can. 

hes seen by everyone, everyone but you. you are the one who doesnt care about him. and to sebastian you just saved his life from someone who could have killed all three of you. he didnt understand why all these thoughts were in his head. why he felt so upset and concerned when you came back hurt. 

he didnt know why he felt breathless around you. sebastian knew he never wanted to feel it again. he never wanted to worry about you, he never wanted to feel any of that. he knew you wouldnt give him the time of day either. 

you slept peacefully in garreths room. and he felt like he couldnt sleep. even tried to knock on your door. "shes at garreths" imelda opened it answering the knock. 

he had no choice but to try tomorrow. he knew he didnt like garreth being around you so much.
