Ch 30 : Dating?

"It's okay, I'm cool with dating as long as you are okay with that" He smiles as I nodded

"Uh, there is something you should know before you make this decision" I say and take deep breaths to calm my heart.

"I'm listening"

"I can't trust people easily because...I have seen things that just broke that piece of me, I know it will take time to trust and love and I hope you are willing to put up with that. If you not I understand" I conclude leaving many things unsaid

He holds his hand out for me to take. As I place my hand in his, Elias smiles "I don't know your childhood and I absolutely don't know the things you have been through but I have to tell you that I respect you and your past so, it's okay if you can't trust me easily, I will never force you or be upset because each day I will try my best so that one day you can trust me".

I couldn't help but smile at his words. "May I?" He questions as I nod. He slowly pulls me towards him and softly places a kiss on my forehead.

"You didn't have to ask" I whisper looking at him

"Of course I did, just because you're my girlfriend now doesn't mean that you're comfortable with everything. I have to ask because it's your body and I am suppose to ask before doing anything and I will continue to ask" He smiles softly as I close my eyes hugging him

You don't know what you're healing Elias...

After he leaves, I walk inside to find dad walking out. I smile as he kisses my forehead "I'll just be back from a meeting" He says walking towards the door but before he could go out he calls for me

"Alora, could you go to my office and get me my red file, it's just on the desk I forgot to pick it up". He asks and I respond with an 'okay'.

I reach his office but before I could open it a guard comes up

"Alora mam, could you put this on the desk and tell your father it was there? I have to get to my wife, she is sick" Marcus the guard requests as I tell him to make sure his wife is okay.

Entering the office with the file, I locate the red file dad wants. I walk towards it but before grabbing it my phone vibrates, pulling it out of my pocket I see a message from Elias that said

I can't seem to stay away from you

I blush a little reading his message and before I could respond back, the file drops from my hand and the pages scatter

Oh no!

I put the phone back and start collecting the pages but my hands halt as I read the statement

MAFIA WAREHOUSE RAIDED

Why does dad need this?

Not thinking much of this I collect the pages and put the file on the table. As I was grabbing the red file I see a notification on a phone that was on the desk

Why does dad have two phones?

Reading the statement my body freezes as I read the message

Rome, we need to have a meeting and talk about the police raiding, they are getting too much in the mafia business.

Mafia...

I calm my breathing before my mind could wander off

"Did you find it, sweetheart?" I hear dad ask and I respond with a timid yes

Walking down the stairs I hand dad the file and make my way toward my room.

Mafia?

The gun?

The phones?

This money and bodyguards?

It's all pointing in the direction that I don't want it to. The ringing of my phone pulls me out of my thoughts and I pick up the phone

"You okay?" Elias asks

"Yeah" I smile

"How are you" I could hear him smiling

"You just left!" I laugh

"Elias"

"Yes love" Blush coats my cheeks as he replies

"Promise me one thing"

"Anything"

"Promise me you won't hide or lie about anything"

There was silence on the other end of the phone as I waited for his response

"I promise"
