Blood

All around me was blood

Bodies surrounding me

Some I recognized

"This is your fault, darling. They are gone because they loved you"

Gasping I sit up, my body covered in sweat.

"Hey, hey. You're okay. You're safe" I heard Elias voice as I see him turning on the lights

"What are you still doing here..?" I questioned clearing my throat

He just shrugged his shoulders

"Didn't you go home?" I asked

"No" He mumbled handing me a water bottle

"Why"

"Just drink the water" He rolls his eyes

After finishing the water, I interrogate him again

"Why"

"Why what" He asks leaning back on the chair

"Why are you still here"

"Because.."

"Because..." I say

"I was forced to" He says looking away

For some odd reason, the response hurt

"Oh, sorry. You can go" I say

"Do you really think if I was forced to be here, I would still be here?" He questions

"Huh" I ask not understanding what he just said

"I wanted to be here, now my turn" He explained

"Hm"

"Do you wanna talk about your nightmare" He asks softly

"How did you know I had a nightmare?" I asked getting creeped out

"Well, you woke up in sweat and you looked quite scared" He reasoned

"Just a bad nightmare" I say not wanting to focus on it too much, I don't want a stupid nightmare to ruin my relationship with anyone.

"Where's dad and the others?" I asked

"Their just doing..stuff" he says awkwardly

"What stuff" I asked

"Ask when they come, you think you can sleep now?" He questions carefully

"You can sleep if you want"

"I'm asking if you can sleep" He says

"I..am not sure" I admit honestly

"That's okay" he reassures

"We can do something till then" Elias suggested

"Oh yea, like what?" I asked

"Tag"

I grabbed a tissue box from the hospital side table and threw it at him.

He caught it while laughing and was his laugh contagious? Very because in the matter of few seconds I find myself laughing too.

We stayed like that, for a while just two souls laughing to take away pain because although we hate each other, somehow we always find peace in each other's company.

-----

Elias kept me entertained by making a few jokes and showing me some movies. It kept me distracted from thinking about the nightmare but somehow it always came back.
