They come back to see Gwen floating next to the hanger. Arlo grabs their bag and their jacket.
"Arlo, can't we just stay here a bit- I'm sorry..."
"I don't have the time now." They open the door and shut it.
Gwen floats there, alone.
Ext. Street - Morning
Arlo steps outside the apartment building.
They look around and take a deep breath. They usually liked to stay inside, it was hard to find a reason to go out.
All the noises and the people felt like an itchy tag on the back of their shirt or the side of their pants, just always there, scratching away until it was impossible to pay attention to anything else besides that itchiness.
If the itching sensation was not off-putting enough, sometimes Arlo would spend time thinking about every single outcome of a small conversation and that was enough to keep them inside their home.
This morning wasn't any different, the street was busy with people walking, riding bicycles, full buses and cars- but somehow the chaos felt welcoming, almost comforting- something they suddenly lacked in their apartment.
They put on their headphones.
Arlo takes out their cell phones, they open Gwen's chat.
No, I'm not sorry I didn't do anything wrong... Arlo deletes the message. They quickly type.
