The three sat in silence as Callie drove them in the direction of the yacht club. Callie hated that they were helping him - as far as she was concerned, he belonged in jail, but she knew that JJ wasn't going to let that happen. The boy was too loyal.

"Hey, pull up to Home Foods here," Luke instructed. "I'm gonna need provisions."

Callie didn't change direction as she muttered, "You can starve for all I care."

"Cal," JJ said through a sigh. "Please."

Begrudgingly, Callie pulled off of the main road and parked out the front of the local store. She could see Luke smiling smugly in the back and it infuriated her.

"Crackers and baked beans and tuna, all right?" the man listed as JJ climbed out of the car. "And some salt and pepper. Five days' worth."

"Yeah. I know," JJ called, not bothering to look back.

Callie sat quietly, staring out the window. Being alone in a car with Luke Maybank made her skin crawl. She knew almost every detail of what he'd done to his son and it was taking so much restraint not to call the Sheriff on him.

Clearly tired of the silence, Luke Maybank began to drum against the back of Callie's carseat. The girl tried to ignore him, but it was becoming overly irritating.

"Would you cut it out," she said through gritted teeth.

Luke laughed from the backseat, dropping his hands as he looked at the girl in the rearview mirror. He was looking quite smug for a man forcing his son to smuggle him off of the island.

"You're an awful father," she said, finally making eye contact with him in the rearview mirror.

The man scoffed, "Is that right? Please, go ahead, and tell me where I went wrong."

"JJ is literally one of the most incredible people I've ever met on this island and you just," she took a breath to compose herself. "You treat him like dirt beneath your shoe."

"He's a thief is what he is," Luke responded in a detached tone. He had always made his feelings for his son quite clear.

"What did you expect, considering you're his so-called parent," Callie shot back. "A wasted local salt who never did shit but get messed up and hustle people. JJ did the best with what he had."

"It's cute how you act like you and your family are so much better than me," he chuckled. "At least I tried to get myself out of a hole instead of putting my family in one. Your dad was Mr. High-and-mighty growing up and now look at him? Threw it all away for your mama.
