Its crazy how quick your life can change. How one minute your swimming in the ocean and the salty water is clinging to your hair and the warm summer breeze kisses your face and then the next, your gasping for air underwater and your lungs are burning and your struggling to breathe

Its crazy how fast things can change.

For the better or for the worst.

A light groan had escaped Aprils lips when she stirred awake.  The strength of the sun was shining through the car windows and was wrapping around april in a warm hug. She grumbled as she readjusted herself in the back seat and she sat up properly

She rubbed her hands against her eyes at an attempt to adjust to sudden harsh light. And she brushed away the drool that escaped her mouth using the back of her hand

She couldn't help the corner of her lips turning up when she saw the 'Welcome to Outer Banks' sign and she couldn't fight away the giddiness that swarmed her stomach

Outer Banks was the only true place that had felt like home to her. And it was swept away from beneath her feet to quickly and she had lost it. Sut she was back again

But just like most things, her excitement had quickly turned to guilt and heartache

The butterflies in her stomach had instantly became moths at the thought of her mom

April's mom was her sanctuary. Her mum had a laugh that made everyone in the room laugh and April admired  it so much and she hoped her laugh would some day have that same effect. Her mum knew everything april would love. She introduced her to all her favourite activities, her favourite spots, places to eat, etc.

April always looked forward to Friday night when her and her mum would gather up in front of the fire and would get the cosiest blankets they could find and turn on a rom-com. April's mom introduced april to all her favourite movies and introduced her to her rom-com motto, 'any rom-com that has Meg Ryan in it, is a good one.'
