CHAPTER TWENTY SIX

They biked over to Eddie's house.

They poked through the ceiling with a stick and to their surprise, they found Robin, Eddie, Nancy and Robin through the ceiling. A gate!

Dustin giggled with joy.

Tara waved.

''This is trippy,'' Robin commented.

They pulled out a mattress and laid it down on the floor.

Next, they brought out a long sheet.

They set it nicely so that the sheet could be used as rope.

Robin came back first.

Next Eddie did.

They were waiting for Steve, but then they heard something that absolutely terrified them.

''NANCY!!!''

''Vecna.'' Max said.

Tara decided to see if she really did have her powers back.

She closed her eyes and teleported to Steve and Nancy.

It was correct. She had her powers back!

''Thanks Owens.'' Tara mumbled to herself.

Tara ran her hand down Nancy's arm to her hand.

She held Nancy's arm gently but firmly.

She closed her eyes and went into Nancy's mind.

To her horror, Tara found herself in the Lab.

She froze, terror consuming her.

There was blood painted on the walls. Dead bodies.

She heard a scream that shot her out of her fear.

She raced down the familiar hallways of the Lab and into many different rooms.

She threw open a door, and found Nancy, restrained in a chair by vines. Vines tying her ankles and wrists down.

There was a tall monster towering over Nancy.

Vecna.

''I want you to tell Eleven and Twelve....'' Vecna told Nancy as she whimpered in fear.

''Tell her yourself.'' Tara spoke from behind him.

Vecna slowly turned around.

She flung him to the wall with her mind.

He glared angrily at her. ''It's you.''

Tara tossed the vines off Nancy with her mind.

''So nice to see you again.'' He said sarcastically as he struggled against the wall.

''A-Again?'' Tara stammered.

''You don't remember me?'' Vecna asked. ''I'm hurt.''

''If you hurt my friends again, I will kill you.'' Tara promised him as she closed her eyes, bringing her and Nancy back.

Nancy gasped, falling backwards into Steve's arms.

He caught her with incredible reflexes.

Tara teleported back to Max and the others.

''You're back,'' Max said, referring to Tara's powers.

''We have to go back there into the Upside Down.'' Nancy said once she had calmed down.

''Nope!'' Eddie immediately said.

''We barley made it out of there!'' Steve exclaimed.

''That's because we weren't prepared! But this time, we will be. We'll get weapons and protection. We'll go through the gate, find his lair and kill him.'' Nancy said.
