Tara hummed to herself as she inhaled the cool summer air.

A hand touched her shoulder.

She spun around to find El.

She smiled.

''Hi.'' El said although she seemed off. ''Where are you going?''

''To Max's.'' Tara replied.

''Can I come?'' El hesitantly asked.

They made it to Max's.

She was outside her house, practicing on her skateboard.

It went wrong, and Max tripped off the skateboard.

The skateboard rolled down the street and El stopped it with her foot.

She picked up the board and approached Max.

''Hi.'' El said before handing over the skateboard.

''Hi?'' Max replied, unsure.

''Can we talk?'' El asked.

''And then he said he missed me and then he just hung up.'' El explained to Max in Max's bedroom.

''He's a piece of shit.'' Max insulted.

''What?'' El asked.

''Mike obviously doesn't have jack shit to do today and his nana obviously isn't sick!'' Max exclaimed. ''I guarantee you, him and Lucas are playing atari right now.''

''But friends don't lie.'' El said.

''Yeah well, boys lie. All the time.'' Max replied with a glare.

She then sat next to El.

''You're going to stop calling him. You're going to ignore his calls. As far as you're concerned, he doesn't exist.'' Max told the brunette firmly.

''Doesn't exist?'' El asked.

''He treated you like garbage!'' Max exclaimed. ''You're gonna treat him like garbage. Give him a taste of his own medicine.''

''Give him the medicine.'' El said confidently.

Max nodded proudly.

''And if he doesn't fix this, if he doesn't explain himself, dump his ass.'' Max told her.

El's eyes widen along with Tara's.

''Come on.'' Max said as she took El and Tara's hand.

''Where are we going?'' El asked.

''To have some fun!'' Max replied with a smile. ''There's more to life than stupid boys, y'know?''

The three girls exited the bus and into the public.

''So, what do you think?'' Max asked El excitedly.

El frowned.

''Hey, what's wrong?'' Max asked her.

''Too many people against the rules.'' El replied.

''Seriously? Tara goes here all the time!'' Max exclaimed.

''Joyce doesn't stop her from leaving.'' El said.

''El, you have superpowers! What's the worst that could happen?'' Max asked with a reassuring grin.

They went into the mall and El looked around in awe.

''So, what should we do first?'' Max asked before her eyes widened. ''You've never been shopping before, have you?''

El shook her head no.
