"percy, i'm really sorry." annabeth shook her head. "he may have survived. i mean, fire can't kill him."
percy nodded, despite not feeling hopeful at all.
cherry was unusually silent.
in this time, her insults were probably the most comforting thing she could provide.
the redhead just sat silently.
percy realized then, just how loving the girl really was.
cherry had felt an instant connection with tyson.
people said her empathy was a gift.
but it didn't feel like one.
annabeth showed them some of the things she'd salvaged from the wreckage.
cherry didn't pay attention.
most of her things had been lost, but she didn't seem to care.
