"Can I get you anything?" Mikoto placed a hand on Kushina's arm.
The red head shook her head softly, wiping away a few stray tears. "No, no. I'm sorry about that. I didn't think that would happen."
"Oh god," Mikoto wiped a few stray tears from her own cheeks. "Don't apologize. We're here to help."
Kushina managed a weak smile. "I appreciate that. It hits hard sometimes, you know? The reality that he's not coming back."
Mikoto nodded, offering a comforting squeeze to Kushina's arm. "I can't even begin to imagine what you're going through. Losing a child . . . It's unimaginable."
"I know you felt the same when Sasuke . . ." The red haired woman couldn't finish her sentence. "But it worked out. I'm just glad you made it here. Seeing Sasuke . . . it was almost like Naruto was here again."
Mikoto was going to reply - except a loud bang from downstairs had the two women shooting up from their spots.
"Oh my god," Kushina paled, "the kids were in that room."
"Shit! Sasuke!"
The two women quickly rushed out of the room.
As Mikoto and Kushina hurriedly entered the living room, their eyes widened at the sight before them. The loud bang had been caused by the unintentional collision of Sasuke and the coffee table, causing a clatter of crutches and blankets.
Sasuke winced as he hobbled around, his injured leg protesting the sudden movement.
Kushina rushed to Sasuke's side, concern etched on her face. "Sasuke, are you alright? What happened?"
Sasuke grumbled, trying to brush off the attention. "I'm fine. Just lost my balance, that's all."
Mikoto sighed, rubbing the back of her head. "Good grief, Sasuke. You're such a clutz darling."
Approximately two point two seconds later, there were two new presences in the room. You bolted into the room while Itachi skidded to a stop right outside.
"Dammit Sasuke!" You shook your head as you surveyed the scene in front of you. "We left you alone for two seconds! What the hell man?!"
Sasuke shot a glare at the coffee table as if it had personally offended him. "It's not a big deal. Just a minor accident."
Itachi raised an eyebrow as he looked at the scattered blankets and crutches. "Minor accident, huh?"
You, on the other hand, crossed your arms and scowled. "Minor accidents don't usually involve crashing into furniture, Sasuke. Especially not with a busted leg."
"Oh come on! The only thing bruised is my ego."
"You're so stupid! We literally told you to stay put!"
"My bad! I was thirsty!"
Itachi interjected with a groan, "Dude! We literally said we were taking our phones. You were supposed to text us if you needed anything!"
Sasuke sighed, realizing he was outnumbered. "Alright, alright. It was a dumbass move. My bad."
You rolled your eyes, but a smirk played on your lips. "You'd be such a bad ninja dude!"
Mikoto couldn't help but chuckle at the banter between all of you. "Well, it seems like things are lively here. We were worried when we heard the crash."
