I sit in my new- very comfortable- bed and think about what I'm going to do

I sit in my new- very comfortable- bed and think about what I'm going to do. I know dam well the higher ups won't just let us go. It's not that easy.

They will come for us- Lucian and I specifically. We were there longer along with a couple other older kids. All the older kids are mafia kids. We were kids.

I need to be prepared for when they do come.

With that feeling in mind, I take my gun strapped in my boot, hiding it in the drawer of my nightstand.

I take a knife from my knife straps under my shirt and hide it under my bed. I leave the rest of my weapons on me and lay back down on my bed.

I close my eyes, not sleeping but resting.

As I lay here with my eyes closed, a knock on the door interrupts my peaceful state.

I roll out of bed and go over to the door.

When I open my door, Sebastian stands there with his hand in the air about to knock again. When he sees me he puts hand down and nods his head to the side telling me to follow him.

I do.

Gosh i should just leave but if i did run away i would have the Russian mafia, an assassin group, and Italian mafia on my back trying to find me.

No need to add to the list.

I follow my oldest brother to the dining room, even if I know where it is. We get there I take my old chair that i used to sit on and wait patiently for food. I'm not even hungry.

I shake my head as to clear my thoughts when a familiar face comes and brings out our food. Joanna.

Joanna was the head maid- practically a nanny because of how much she did for us. She was about 40 when I left so she has to be in her 50's right now. She has such a motherly aura- hell she practically raised me sense my father was never loving towards me.

My face lights up in recognition, and I smile brightly at her. 'Joanna! I missed you so much! How have you been?' I sign.

She sees me and smiles at me too, though her face morphs into confusion at the sign language. She looks to Elijah for translation. I turn to look at him too.

"She said 'Joanna, I missed you so much, how have you been?'. Diovanna is selectively mute" he explains giving a small smile.

I turn back to Joanna who- even after hearing im not going to talk- smiles brightly at me. "I missed you too! Ah this house hasn't been the same!" She exclaims wrapping me in a tight hug.

I tense and bite my lip to prevent a whimper to escape my lips. Her hand is right on the whip mark on my back when I refused to fight Sandy, an eleven year old little girl.
