Maitama district

I just finished talking with Muffy love

I was dressed in a blue Abaya and I wrapped the veil around my head hijabi style

I had already gotten ready to go to school I put on my backpack  then walked out of the room

As I opened the door, I stumbled across Granny, she is so old and walks with a walking stick

She herself has forgotten her age

And she was 83

Yup, that old

"Where do think you're going young lady" she said waving the bottom of the stick at my face

"Granny, I'm going to schoo-"

Wack!!

I felt a stick on my head

"Ouch, what was that for" I said feeling annoyed. Old people are crazy, as short as she is

See how hard she hit me

"You're going to school when my Grand children are coming back after six years, ki na hankali ne (do have sense)

"Dan Allah, ki Hakuri I need to go to school, Greet them for me when they come, I'll be back by 5pm" I said trying to walk pass her when

WACK!!

YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!!

"Is it by force to go to school" she began

"I didn’t let any of your cousins or your siblings go to school not even your uncle and aunt went to work, Infact if your parents were  alive I wouldn't let them go to work, and you're not an exception, NOW DROP YOUR BAG AND GO DOWN TO JOIN YOUR COUSINS AND SIBLINGS TO PREPARE FOR MY GRANDCHILDREN'S WELCOMING PARTY" she said all in one breath screaming the last part then glared at me then walked away

I really love Granny, but sometimes she's so scary

And yeah, you heard right my parents died though it was different times but was still the same year

My dad died first in a plane crash on his way back from a business trip to visit my mom who had just given birth to my younger twin brother and sister

Three months later my mom died from depression

After that my uncle Aliyu Kollere (mama's brother) and his wife Yasmin Aliyu Kollere took me and my siblings in and trained and treated us like we were theirs

And their kids were no different, All five of them(The kids) were so nice to me Akeel, and Akeelah  (my identical baby twins)

The next year two of my favorite cousins traveled to Qatar to start schooling

And uncle Aliyu said they were not allowed to come to visit till they finish

Wai, to 'prevent distraction'

Mtchewww

And this all happened seven years ago when I was twelve

Anyway

I went back inside my room threw my phone on the bed then dropped my bag beside the bed I threw my veil to only God knows where

Leaving me with nothing but my cap and Abayah, I folded my sleeve getting ready for the work ahead of me
