Actinolite is a common fibrous mineral, widespread in different types of rock, such as slags, carbonatites and pegmatites, as black, green, and white radiating or needle-like crystals.
This mineral is used as a fire and acid-proof material, and is mined in several countries across the world, though found in more. Rarely, this mineral could also be harder, larger and more transparent, making those rare crystals gemstones which can be cut.
It is easy to find a piece of this mineral in any rivers, mountains or outcrops near you, mostly as white or black, large, nontransparent crystal aggregates.
Even with its Mohs scale hardness being 5-6, it is easily broken because of the crystals being most likely tiny, forming fibrous aggregates which can be easily broken just by dropping them from a sufficient height.
