A few nights after prom we were in the studio working on our ep that we named Put Up or Shut Up. Alex had a lot of songs already written so we were mostly recording and making them go together.
We had lots of late nights when everyone went home and it was just Alex and I who stayed to work on the songs... or do other things.
The moments we were alone were the best. I loved my friends and band mates to death but honestly I just wanted to kiss Alex all the time. He seemed to want the same.. at least for a while.
The late nights got more and more infrequent. Which made me worry, because if he didn't like me anymore how in the world would I be able to be around him all the time for the band?
The last time we worked in the studio late at night, I had to convinced Alex to stay with me so we could be alone. He didn't seem too thrilled about it but he did.
We went over music for a while and then settled into one of the couches to cuddle and watch a movie on the conveniently placed TV in the studio.
He loosely wrapped an arm around me, which made me nervous and kinda sad. Usually he'd gather me up in his arms and squeeze until I couldn't breathe, all while planting tons of kisses on my lips. But not this night.
"Are you alright, Lex?" I asked him quietly about half way through the movie.
He didn't take his eyes from the screen, even though I knew he wasn't interested in the stupid fucking movie playing, "I'm fine."
"Are you sure? Because you're kinda acting weir-"
He cut me off, "I'm fine."
A wave of hurt rolled through me so I shook my head and turned back to the movie to act like it didn't bother me.
Ten minutes later Alex was squirming around next to me. I moved over and looked at him.
"What the fuck is up with you?" I asked him bluntly. I was pretty done with his whole vibe lately.
He made a face and wouldn't look at my eyes, "I, um... We need to talk."
