*Ava's p.o.v.*

when I saw my parents yesterday I have to admit I was in a complete shock, I didn't expect them to come all the way from LA to see me, but the next morning, when I woke and had already changed into some clothes, and I got out to have breakfast, they were already at the table:

"good morning hon" Dad said

"good morning" I replied

I walked to the kitchen, got an apple and some water and sat in the table and, as every morning, I got the newspaper that pops had left there for me

in the first couple of minutes none of us said anything, until Mom asked:

"do you want us to drive you to school?"

I looked at her and shocked my head before answering:

"no thanks, I take the subway with my friends everyday"

they nodded and Dad asked:

"so, you have friends?"

I nodded and said:

"yeah they are pretty cool actually"

"and you like rock music" Mom said

I nodded again and replied:

"yeah helps me relax and forget my problems"

"ah okay" both of them said at the same time

I looked up from the newspaper and when I saw them looking at each other I asked:

"what happens?"

there were some moments of silence until Mom said:

"oh we were just wondering if, since it's Friday, you would like to come with us after school and spend the afternoon together"

I slowly nodded and said:

"yeah okay why not, a plan got cancelled yesterday so yeah I'm free"

they nodded and soon I was finished, so I got up, went back to my room to get my bag and when I was out again both of them were up:

"where are your grandparents by the way?" Mom asked

"sleeping of course" I replied as I walked to the door

I turned around to face them and told them:

"well, I finish around three, so we'll see each other here when I'm done"

"we could go pick you up" Dad said

I shrugged my shoulders and said:

"sure why not, whenever I finish I'll text you"

"okay" Dad said

I nodded and said:

"well, bye"

"goodbye" both of them said

and with that I left

*time skip to after school*

we had just finished school when Beth asked me:

"we were thinking of going shopping, want to come?"

I looked at her and whined as I told her:

"I already told my parents that I would spend the afternoon with them"

she looked at me and said:

"I just find it weird that they just appeared out of nowhere"

"right!" I said "I was doing fantastic and then boom, here they are"

she laughed and said:

"well, have fun, I'll see you tomorrow for the concert?"

I nodded and told her:

"yeah sure, I'll see u tomorrow"

we hugged and then she left, when she had gone I got out my phone and sent a message to Dad:

Dad

I'm already out

Okay baby, we'll be there in ten

and truthful to his word, ten minutes later they were in front o the school and I was getting in a cab with them and we were driving to a near Starbucks to get something to eat

when we got there and found a table to sit down after getting our food we didn't say anything and stood there in an awkward silence until I said looking down at my hands:

"I'm sorry"

I looked up and saw them both looking at each other, and then Mom said:

"sorry for what hon?"

I sighted and said:

"I know I didn't turn to be the daughter you've wanted"

I knew, though I didn't see them, that they were looking at each other, and soon after Mom said:

"hon, please look up"

I looked at her and she said:

"you didn't disappoint us in any way, okay? I know you're talking about yesterday when we saw you, and I wanted to tell you in the name of your father and mine that we're really sorry if we came off like we didn't like how we saw you, we were just surprised"

I nodded and said:

"but still I'm sorry, I know that if I had stayed with you, I wouldn't be like this"

"hey, hey, no hon, don't say that" Dad said placing his hand on top of mine "we love you, we don't care how you look like and what you like and don't like, it's true that your mother and I had another idea in mind, but that doesn't mean that we don't like this new you"

I looked at him and asked:

"do you really?"

both of them nodded and Mom said as she placed her hand in my cheek:

"of course, you're still our baby"

I then let my tears run freely down my cheeks and I hugged Mom

"can you forgive me?" I asked

mom kissed the top of my head and told me:

"you didn't do anything wrong, so there's nothing you have to be sorry for okay?"

I nodded and stayed in my Mom's chest even after I had stopped crying
