*Ava's p.o.v*

when Dad and I got to the backyard we found it full of people, who, when they saw us coming out of the house, they stopped talking and looked at us:

"so" a man said that was about Dad's age "is she the famous Ava that we've been hearing about?"

I looked up and saw how Dad nodded and then smiled down at me before he said:

"yeah she is bro, though she's still a little shy when she's around people she doesn't know yet"

I nodded slightly and in that moment Mom came out of the house with a bowl in her hands and when she left it on the table, she came to us, and said after she was by my side:

"yeah she is, so please don't be too hard on herself okay?"

it was funny to see how over protective they were with me now, but I did like it, because that meant that they cared enough about me to say that and make me feel as comfortable as possible wherever I went

when she said that a girl that was a little younger than me, approached me and said:

"hi Ava, my name is Stella"

"well, nice to meet you Stella"

she nodded as she smiled and then rushed back to her mother, soon the meeting began and Ava, in five minutes knew who all of the people in her backyard were

at first i wasn't talking to anyone, but soon enough my three cousins came up to me and we began talking, and before we knew it, it was time to have dinner:

"okay guys" Mom said "let's go inside to eat"

we all followed Mom inside and sat on the table, the places were set in a way in which I ended up being between Stella and my grandma (my Mom's Mom), and so when we began eating my grandma asked:

"so honey, are you excited about coming with me to New York?"

I looked at her immediately and trying to hide my surprise I replied:

"yeah of course! I have never been to New York so I'm really looking forward it"

she smiled at me and said:

"well, once we get there, I'll show you around the important places that you will need to know, your grandpa and I live in the upper east side, so there's no need to worry in terms of security because I've been told that it's the best neighbourhood in the city"

I nodded again and told her:

"well that's good to hear"

she nodded and then turned to his husband, who was telling her something, and I was left alone with my thoughts, and before I knew it I was asking:

"grandma, do you know when I'm going with you?"

she turned to me and asked:

"your parents didn't tell you?"

I shocked my head and so she said:

"well, your grandpa and I will come here to pick you up tomorrow at noon, because we have to catch the flight at 6"

"oh" I replied "okay, that's good to know"

she smiled at me and turned back to her husband to keep talking, I kept thinking about what she had just told me, and since I needed a quieter place to be, I stood up and said:

"I'm going to the bathroom"

I left the dinning room and, instead I went up to my room, where I sat down on my bed and began crying

some minutes after I heard how the door opened and Dad came in:

"hey bubs, what happens? is everything okay?"

I turned around to face him and when he saw that I was crying quickly sat by my side and rubbed my back, but before he could say anything I said:

"when were you planning on telling me? tomorrow an hour before I had to leave?"

he stood up from the bed and whispered:

"shit" there was some silence until he continued: "we were planning on telling you, I promise bubs, but we didn't know when"

"actually" I said interrupting him "I don't know why it came to me as a surprise after I heard you talk with Mom that other day during breakfast, but I don't know, I kinda wished it was nothing because after that everything began to go great between the three of us, but I guess that nothing is always the same uh?"

"no hon don't think like that please, we were looking for the best way to tell you"

"well you are running a little late already to tell me, don't you think?" I asked him

the door opened and Mom came in and said angrily:

"what did she tell you?"

"looks like everything" Dad answered before I could

"I bet she didn't mean to, please don't be hard on her" I said

"but we were going to tell you, she always finds a way to ruin everything"

I looked at her still with tears in my eyes and she tried and calm herself:

"okay, okay, I'm sorry, you're right"

there were some moments in which none of us talked and then Mom finally said:

"okay hon, we're sorry we didn't tell you earlier, it's just that we wanted to spend as much time as possible with you without thinking that you had to leave again soon"

"yeah well that's okay, because we'll see each other from time to time right?"

they looked at each other and didn't say anything, so I insisted:

"right?"

"we don't know hon, but we will try to"

"ah" I said "okay"

"please bubs, understand us, we don't want to place high hopes on you and then ruin them, you know?" Dad said

"sure" I replied as I stood up from the bed "I'm going down now"

as I walked past Dad, he tried to give me a hug, but with a quick move I didn't let him

*Chris's p.o.v*

when she didn't let me give her a hug I knew we had done everything wrong:

"oh god, not again, she's going to leave being mad at us Chris"

I looked at Scar and saw that tears were running down her cheeks and so I approached her and gave her a hug, she soon hugged me back and continued:

"and I bet that she didn't even want to leave LA"

"hey Scar, everything is going to be okay, we're going to make it up to her, okay?"

"I just wanted to have some time with my daughter, we just got her back Chris"

"I know Scar, I know" I replied as I let a sight out
