Mission Impossible

Felix's POV

I woke up in the barracks and I noticed that most of the soldiers were not there. I got up and grabbed my weapons knowing that I would probably have to get to work as soon as possible.

Walking out of the barracks, I notice a lone soldier walking by.

"Hey! You!" I call out and the soldier turns to me.

"Oh...uh..yes sir?" He asked and I looked around only to notice that no one was around.

"Where is everybody? Is there like a breakfast buffet or something? C'mon what am I missing?" I say, suspicious of what's going on.

"Oh well they all went off to make sure the Feds and the Rebels stay at war." He responds and get confused.

"Wait what? But that's what Locus and I do. That's our job. Are you saying they doing our job?" I question and the guy nods.

"Uh yeahh. Yep pretty much. Except they you know...stay in the shadows and make sure they're not spotted since they aren't really you...but yeah, yeah pretty much." He says casually leaving me even more confused as before.

"Why?" I ask, showing the annoyance in my voice.

"Well I don't know much but I heard you and Locus got assigned a new mission." The soldier says quietly, as if he was going to get in trouble if he heard it while I stood there, the words not processing through my brain. A new mission?

"Well, have a great day sir." He says as he walk away leaving me to figure this out.

I walked over to one of the buildings on the premises, looking for Locus so we can contact Command, but as I pass a room I hear voices that are all too familiar.

After recognizing the voices I hid next to the doorway and listened to everything I could.

"With all do respect sir, I do not think it is wise to proceed with this mission." I could tell Locus was in there and as soon as I heard the 'sir' I knew he was talking with Command.

"What brings you to this negative thought, Locus?"

"Well consider the fact that Felix lost a very important mission just to an overprotective side. He still has...feelings for this girl and we have no idea how he is going to react to this...mission." Locus said expressing disgust once he came across the word 'feelings'.

I walked into the room, casually, pretended that I was never listening at the door.

"Hey! What'd I miss huh?" I asked in my usual tone of voice.

"Felix, what a coincidence. We were just talking about you" Command replied.

"All good things I hope." I mumbled but apparently they both heard it. Locus looked at the holographic screen, meaning to look at Command then back at me.

"We were also discussing your new mission." Command said showing no regard to my last comment.

"Alright, hit me." I tried to say calmly.

"Well as you may know your last mission did not quite turn out to be a successful one. And you both know I don't accept failure as-"

"Yeah, yeah just get to the point." I say growing impatient.

"Your new mission...is (Y/N)."
