"He severed off her ears and threw them into the lake, where the sirens sing and await his bait"

LOUD. THAT WAS PERCY JACKSON'S WORLD, it was loud, loud from the campers joy after a capture the flag game. Loud was the roaring of the monsters chasing them for a bite of their blood. Loud was the pounding of his heart after running from death again and again. But in here it was different, it wasn't loud, there wasn't a sound that would explain the sickening feeling in his throat begging to be choked out and thrown up. If anything this place, this maze; it was a little place connected to more hellish things like the dreams of demons coming to life. And as they re-entered the labyrinth once more, there was that sense, that ick deep under his skin knowing just knowing that they'll leave this place with more than what they bargain for. As they walked deeper into the maze it would come sooner than later.

As quiet as the shuffling of their feet was, Rachel had stopped; her conversation with Annabeth quickly came to end. She looked sickly like someone had shoved something nasty into her mouth. Her eyes bulged out and her head kept moving from left to right. She was shaking like a leaf in the wind.

"What's wrong?" Annabeth was the first to speak, this was starting to freak her out, it wasn't hard to tell from the slight quiver in her voice.

Rachel didn't say anything and continued on trying to ignore the feeling in her stomach telling her to go the other way. She stopped again blinking owlishly at the barely visible door staring right back at her. There was something in her gut just telling her they needed to go in there to get her help. So, she did, not listening to her friends asking what was happening or why they were entering. She listened to the voice of the man who pierced her drums like a knife, whispering so violently in her ears to enter the room. The sickly white room where the woman holding lies in her hands would help them. Knowing that the longer they stayed trying to convince her the longer it would take for them to believe her.

STATIC WAS IN THE AIR, and it plucked at their skin pinching their child like cheeks filled with innocence and joy; something everyone knew would last long. The first thing Percy noticed about Rachel was not her weirdly artistic self, it was unruly red hair and the look of utter defiance in her eyes. However as he looked at her right now at this moment, the look in her eyes would've, should've made him puke, gag, anything above everything to be disgusted. Instead he kept his mouth shut and lips sealed like a zipper sewn into his skin and continued as they all shuffled quietly behind her.

Almost as if she had been here before, Rachel walked quickly but quietly letting the venom woke into her veins. Moving her like they had been here before to the front desk, where the receptionist was. The others observed the conversation between Rachel and the receptionist, it was quick, it was harsh and in less than a few minutes they were led to the room.  It was white, and so so bright like a hospital.

"Miss Du'Vall, honey, you got a couple of visitors. Little red here says she's your niece, how sweet of her to bring her friends along to visit you.'' The nurse was sweet, but her voice was unbearable, it was loud and kind, and rough and angry, it was all things she hated. Raising her arm to lead them into the room, she stepped aside to tell Rachel something.

"She doesn't really talk much, dear. I'm not too sure she goin' to talk to you. But she never got any visitors before so you try your best now." She said, giving her a smile and walking out the room. The three demigods stared at the mortal as if to say 'what the hell!?'. Rachel shrugged and went towards the woman who hadn't noticed they were there yet. Annabeth couldn't hear anything but she felt the harsh whispers going back and forth.
