~~Chapter Twenty~~

Start from the beginning

"I...I don't know. I just started thinking about how I want a little bit more freedom with my happily ever after." Apple said, looking down.

Raven moved closer to Apple, placing a hand on her shoulder. "If you don't live the way you want to, can you really call it a happily ever after?"

Apple looked up at her, shocked at her words, but also not surprised that Raven would say something like that.

"Raven..."

"Apple."

They both looked at each other, sharing an enchanting look.

The two both leaned towards each other, the small gap between them slowly closing.

Right before their lips touched, a loud voice rang, interrupting them.

"RAVEN!"

It was Blondie Lockes. She was most likely calling Raven over for an interview for her Mirror Cast.

Once Raven spotted Blondie waving her over, she looked over to Apple. "I'm sorry, I'll be right back." Raven apologized, standing up and walking away.

"I'll be here" Apple whispered, watching Blondie talk with Raven.

Apple began looking around, seeing the couples dancing, the lights flashing, and Melody Piper turning the (already deafening) music up.

After a few moments of her doing this, she spotted C.A. Cupid approaching her table.

"Oh! C.A.! Hi." Apple greeted her, as Cupid sat down in Raven's seat.

"Hi, Apple. How are you?"

Apple looked down for a moment, looking rather sad.

"Are you okay?" Cupid asked, a bit concerned.

"Can I tell you something? You might be able to help"

"Sure?" Cupid responded, acting like she didn't know what Apple was about to say.

"Well...I have feelings for Raven, and I don't know if I should tell her or-"

"NO DON'T!" Cupid exclaimed, not realizing about ten people, including Raven and Blondie, had turned to see what happened.

Blondie gave Cupid a look, as if silently telling her; "what the hell?"

Cupid calmed down and looked around a moment, waiting for everyone to return to whatever they were doing.

"I mean...I think that you shouldn't tell her, because that could make it more awkward for both of you, right? Wait until graduation maybe?"  C.A. said.

Apple gave C.A. A strange look. "Are you sure? Because I feel like-"

"I'm sure."

"Ok, I won't say anything then," Apple said, still considering. She knew that C.A. Cupid of all people would know all about love, so maybe she should trust her. But there was still something deep inside of Apple, screaming at her to tell Raven. Especially considering what Raven said to her the other morning.

"Good choice," Cupid said, smiling and walking away. At that moment, Blondie also finished her interview with Raven.

Raven came back to Apple, at the small table they shared. "I'm so sorry about that... where were we?" Raven said, knowingly smiling.

"Well, I think-" Apple got cut off. Again.

Melody Piper had called the crowd around the front of the salon for a few announcements. Raven and Apple headed towards the front and stood among the crowd.

Melody made a couple of announcements, called up a few couples, and shared some fun facts about True Hearts Day.

After about twenty minutes, she finished with a bow, as the crowd broke out into pandemonium.

"How about a few slow dances?" She yelled out into the crowd, receiving a cheer back.

She started playing a slow song, as couples scattered throughout the room, dancing slowly with each other.

Raven looked over to Apple.

"Dance with me?" She offered, holding her hand out to Apple.

Apple Warily glanced around. "What if someone sees us?"

"They won't. They're too caught up with their own partners anyway. Just one dance?"

Apple couldn't help but smile at Raven, taking her hand. Raven dragged her to the middle of the Salon, holding her hand, and putting her other hand on Apple's waist.

"Never knew you could ballroom dance, Queen." Apple chuckled.

"There's a lot you don't know about me, Apple," Raven said, grinning

Raven dipped Apple, getting a chuckle from Apple. They were only a few inches away, just smiling at each other. They stayed in this position for only a few seconds, though it felt like forever.

Raven pulled Apple up quickly, a little too quickly. Apple stumbled onto Raven at the sudden movement.

After she fell on Raven, Apple immediately pulled away, apologizing.

"No, Apple. It's fine" Raven anxiously told her, looking away.

Apple looked back to Raven, taking one of her hands, and forcing her to look at Apple.

"They looked at each other for a moment, before the music stopped and people started loudly chatting once again.

"Hey, I know we've only been here for 30 minutes, but would you like to go? It's fine if not I mean-"

"Sure" Apple cut Raven off, taking her hand and dragging her outside.

Once they got outside, they saw clouds looming over Book End and after a few seconds, the rain started pouring.

Raven started to shield her head, while Apple chuckled and ran out into the rain.

"Come on Raven! Join me!" She laughed, getting completely soaked

Raven watched her for a moment, before sharply sighing, and joining Apple.

They ran through the rain together, laughing and smiling. It felt like time stopped, just for them, at that moment. Once the two reached the school, Raven decided it was time.

"Apple? Can I tell you something?"

"Of course!"

"Okay, well, I don't want this to change anything between us if you don't feel the same way, but, I need to get this off my chest."

Both of their hearts were pounding, time froze, their eyes locked, and with that,

"I have feelings for you" Raven spat out, her face glowed a light pink, as she looked away from Apple.

Apple was internally screaming, cheering, so happy that the girl she had fallen for liked her back.

Apple simply smiled and placed a hand on Raven's cheek

Raven turned her head around to stare at Apple before she heard her state; "I like you too."

They beamed at each other, so happy to have the secret off of their shoulders.

Apple flashed a smile at Raven, winking at her and walking into the building. Both of them cheered and laughed once the other one was away, so happy they shared the same feelings.

This seems like a happily ever after, Right? But what if someone had been watching their every step, conjuring a plan?
