I am selfish.... I always was.... To survive and keep my sister safe was always my top priority, so much that I have always been lonely
*Flashback*
*At middle school*
"Y/n chan you aren't going back home with us?" Asked emily, my new classmate
"Sorry!! I have part time and then I have to pick up my sister from her tuition!" I said as I ditched them
...... Hanging out was hard.... They are gonna eat or drink something on their way back and make me lose money
Eventually they stopped joining me for lunch break and calling me while going back home
*At highschool*
"Y/n chan your results Aren't very good, is everything alright at home?"
Asked my teacher
I nodded yes... How do I say I am just dumb....
"Well seems Like i will have to call your aunty to Talk about your college entrance exam" Said teacher
"I- I don't plan on going to college" I said as I mustered up the courage
".... You kids this days, think it's so easy to find work without studying!!" Scolded the teacher
And I just beared like always
"Y/n chan! Did sir scold you too much?" Asked Arishu, my best friend from first year of high school
"Well, it's my fault" I said as I looked down
"Wanna go have something nice to eat today?!" Asked arishu in a jolly tone, she was always happy, it made me feel happy too
"Sure! Can we bring Umi too?" I asked
And suddenly her face got dull
"Hey Y/n chan, it's always with Umi, you and I should hang out too and talk like adults sometimes too!" She said
"Umi is mature she will understand us! " I gave the solution to Arishu, not getting the hint that she just wants to ditch Umi
"..... Ok" She replied and I cheered
.... Soon after she became distant with me because I couldn't hangout with her the day she went thought a breakup, I mean I was at my part time... What did she expected
*Flashback Ends*
I sighed, I don't know why, this two occasions came into my mind as I ran thought the island..... Maybe because this time too.... I was being selfish... Choosing to stay here with Yuki safe and sound... Instead of going with the guy who took the trouble to search for us to make sure we are safe and protected... The guy who wanted to help protect us, giving us a place of belonging in his ship...
We stopped and huffed for some moment
"Now what?" Asked Umi
"I don't know, we don't even have money" I said as the sat on a stone
"Isn't Ace at the shore?" Asked Nami
"The letter said he is gonna be waiting till 10, it's already 11:23pm" I said as I looked up to the big clock tower of the island
"We are doomed, Smoker will search for us after making sure his wife is okay, I am sure!" Said Umi
...... Where will we go this late at night?
