Location: FOB Delta, Iraq,Al Anbar province
We see Y/N and his team Patrolling outside the at a checkpoint making sure no unsavoury people get through
(Y/N POV)
"Hey Y/N"
I turn my head to see Colt
"Our shifts over wanna come back to the barracks with me?"
I ponder for a second before nodding my head and start walking to the jeep and get in.
"Why do you want me to come with you?"
"I just wanted to show you something"
It was a quiet ride back to the FOB and through the main gate I glance at Colt and see a little smirk on his face
"What's the smirk for?"
"Oh nothin"
We get out of the jeep and walk into the barracks and I see everyone sitting around a Christmas tree. Colt turns towards me and say
"I remember you telling me that you never had a proper Christmas so me and team set this up for ya, Merry Christmas man"
A subtle smile creeps on my face
"You guys didn't have to do this"
Kirk jumps up and says
"We wanted to, after all the fighting that we've been through it's just nice be able to relax, but enough of that I got you a present"
" A present?"
"What you think we set this tree up for nothing"
Kirk picks up a small box and hands it to me I grab it and see everyone looking at me eagerly
I open it and and see it's a necklace
"What this?"
"Well everyone chipped in and got this it's got saint Micheal on the front and when you open it it's got everyone in the squads name on it and something else for you too"
I open it and see not only everyone's initials I also see it has a small photo of everyone including myself I close the locket and I walk up to Kirk and give him a hug
"This is way too kind I appreciate it
He hugs me back and says
"No worries man"
We separate and then everyone says
"MERRY CHRISTMAS Y/N!"
Colt than speaks up and say
"Enough of that let's get this party started"
And for the rest of the day everybody shared gifts, drinks and food that wasn't out of an MRE's
An even with all the war and chaos going on people can still spread the holiday cheer. Especially around a Christmas tree
Well well well look at that I actually updated this book, and even though this isn't an actual chapter which is in the works BTW I couldn't go Christmas without giving after receiving so much.
