It had taken Klaus sometime but he finally decided to guide Elena up the rugged rocks and made their way towards the cascading waterfall..it wasn't that he didn't wanna show this amazing view to her, after all who wouldn't wanna see something so beautiful? Really though, it was because he wanted her to trust him..and all the things he'd done..he knew it would take some time before he'd earn her trust

As Klaus stole a glance at Elena, a genuine smile graced his features as Elena reciprocated the act with a warmth smile and Klaus came to a deliberate stop as he walked over and stood at the ledge of the cliff and Elena joined him to survey the breathtaking heights they had reached

The hybrid gazed out into the distance and couldn't help but to appreciate the beauty of the moment

"There's a certain majesty in standing at the precipice of nature's wonders."

He mused keeping his eyes on the cascading water below as Elena nodded in agreement though still captivated by the view

"It's a reminder that even in the wildest places, there's a quiet beauty waiting to be discovered."

Elena was honestly surprised at the turn that Klaus has taken just a few weeks ago..he'd tried to kill her and her friends, he'd made her life a living hell even going so far as to kill her aunt Jenna all in some sick demented game of becoming the hybrid

But now it's like she was seeing him in a whole new light...it was a glimpse of a man, who despite his dark past, was capable of seeing the beauty that the world had to offer

Elena: I gotta admit, Klaus... I never—I never expected this day to turn out like this.

Klaus let out a chuckle, his eyes glinting with a touch of mischief

"Well, I tend to have that effect on people."

She laughed, the sound mingling with the gentle rush of the waterfall. As she looked down at the water, the world beneath them seemed to stretch into infinity; But, amid the breathtaking scenery, Elena's mind betrayed her, it looped back to the sting of what Rebekah had done to her..it brought that rush of anger back..stealing away the moment

Elena: I can't do this.

She said softly as raised a curious brow, sensing the turmoil beneath her composed exterior and as she started to walk away, she continued her soft voice woven with frustration

Elena: Your sister just makes me so mad.

"Rebekah has a talent for stirring the pot, doesn't she? But, love, don't let her antics spoil what could be a memorable day."

Klaus told her with a knowing smile as he slowly started to walk towards her as she met his gaze with her eyes reflecting a mixture of gratitude and frustration

Elena: I appreciate that, Klaus, but your sister...

"Is not a bother anymore."

Klaus broke the distance between them, wanting her to know that his sister wasn't to be a threat to her anymore

"As long as I'm still breathing, Rebekah will never bother you again."

Elena appreciated his words; she still wasn't sure what game her was playing..why he's suddenly taken an interest her that went beyond being a blood bank but honestly she didn't care. It was better than her having to look over her shoulder waiting for him to strike
