Chapter 34

I looked up to him and I didn’t hide how scared I was.

He licked his lips and clenched his jaw a little bit.

“It’s fine if you do not want—-”

Umiling ulit ako. “It’s fine, El. I’ve been wanting to talk about them too…today is just unexpected.”

He remained looking at me critically, hindi kumbinsido sa rason ko.

I gave him a little smile and encircled my hands on his waist.

“I’m gonna be fine…and I already expected their reactions so…they are mad right? But just like what I have said, their reaction is understandable. Naiintindihan ko sila, El”

He sighs heavily and softly caresses my exposed back. Hindi pa rin kumbinsido sa mga rason ko.

“Didn’t you have a jacket or something? Your back is too exposed.”

Hindi ko alam kung bigla akong matutuwa o hindi. He looked so worried as his palms tried to cover my back.

“That's how it's supposed to look, El.”

Mas lalo siyang nairita sa sagot ko.

“Tsk. You've been exposing yourself too much, your last two magazine shots were too bold.” 

Ako naman ngayon ang namilog ang mata. I both modelled for lingerie at the last two magazine covers.

“Bumili ka?” Namamangha kong tanong.

Tumaas ang kikay niya sa akin at umiwas ng tingin.

“Of course not.” Kaagad nitong tanggi.

I laughed at his answer, especially when his face reddened. His neck tattoos, his height and just his all over physique. And here he is blushing so hard.

“So what? What’s wrong with buying a magazine you’ve covered?” Depense niya. Akala ko hindi siya bumili?

Pinigilan kong huwag matawa sa sagot niya. Pero hindi ko pa rin mapigilan na ngumiti.

“I looked good right?” I tease him.

Imbes na sumagot ay hinila na niya ang kamay ko papasok.

“El, I looked good right?" Pamimilit ko pa.

He glanced at me again and I smiled more. Pero bigla akong napatigil ng pumasok sa isipan ko ang mga kaganapan kanina lang. 

Did I just forget that I just saw his parents a few minutes ago? Was he just able to successfully divert my attention?

Namamangha kong tiningnan ang likod niya. He just did.

I felt so light right now and just a few minutes ago I felt like shit. Is that even possible?

He pulled a chair for me at hindi ko man lang namalayan kung paano kami nakarating dito.

I looked around and we were in an open place on the second floor. Hindi ko nga alam na merong second floor ang resto.

The air was so fresh and even though we couldn't see the ocean at night, the sounds of the waves made the atmosphere feel more intimate. Lalo na at sobrang tahimik at tanging kaming dalawa lang ang nandito kahit na may mga bakanteng lamesa pa naman.

I looked at our surroundings in awe.

"You like it?"

I almost rolled my eyes at him when I heard his boastful tone.

The waiter started serving our food and we started eating. Dahil gutom ako at medyo late na rin kaming kumain ay halos naubos namin ang lahat ng handa.

I looked at our empty plates and felt satisfied with it. Then right after, I started digging into my avocado ice cream.
