Chased by El Lewis Vesper Esquivel

Chapter 7

In one room, there are three bedrooms so therefore 3 students in one unit. I was grouped with two girls who are my seniors. I am not that familiar with them, but I always see them in the organization of our school and therefore with El.

"You are Alenikah, right?" One of them asked after we settled our things in the sala. I mean sila lang pala dahil hawak ni El ang mga gamit ko at mas nauna na akong umakyat.

I smiled slightly. "Opo…"

She tapped my arm playfully. "Just call me Ate Viviane, using 'po' makes me  feel like a grandma."

I smiled slightly again and nodded my head. Both of them seem friendly and approachable, in short they don't look like other girls who have delusions on El.

"You and El are always seen together....maybe you could pair me with him!"

I'll take back my words.

I looked at Ate Sam heistantly.

"Hay naku! Ilang taon ka na doon nagpapapansin hindi naman namamansin!" Ate Viviane nudged her in the back.

Ate Sam laughed. "Pero hindi pa rin ako susuko. Who knows now? Kaya nga ako sumali sa org, I'll make sure he'll notice me soon." Ate Sam declared confidently.

But this is just awkward for me.

"Oh wait! You are not together naman diba? El doesn't like younger women, he prefers his age or older. She likes mature women." Ate Sam asked then looked at me from head to toe. Her brows were furrowed but when she noticed that I was looking at her, she smiled again.

I really wanna take back my words.

"No, we are not a couple…" yet...I wanna add it but I stopped myself. I need to play safe, especially that we are roommates.

Though, who cares?

Our doorbell rang and it must be him. Akmang bibitaw na ako sa usapan ng nauna na si Ate Sam sa may pintuan.

Well…I looked at the door and it indeed revealed him. Kaagad na hinanap ng mga mata niya ang pigura ko, while I just raised my brows at him when our eyes met. With him are my two small luggages.

I looked at Ate Sam as she stood still.

Lumapit na ako sa may pintuan at hinarap siya. Ate Sam eyed me suspiciously while she remained on the door frame but her smile didn't fade away.

"Your things...go change if you want and we'll have our lunch." He strictly commanded.

Again, this is awkward. Pero wala naman kami talagang relasyon, so I didn't lie. Our engagement will be announced after he graduates, which is basically two years from now.

"No. I wanna eat now." I answered back.

Tumango siya sa akin at binalingan ng tingin si Ate Sam na nanatili sa may pintuan. She then stood up properly and smiled more brightly. Nakakasilaw rin pala.

"Is it fine If I enter the unit and help Lenikah with her things?" He asked permission.

Akmang iiling ako at magpriprisintang kaya ko naman pero naunanahna ako ulit ni Ate Sam.

"Sure, sure." Then opened the door more widely, inviting him inside.

Kaya wala na akong nagawa kung hindi ituro ang magiging kwarto ko. We both entered my room and he closed it after. I could feel Ate Sam and Ate Viviane's curious and burning stares as we both entered.

"I'll fixed it later...gutom na ako." I protested.

He looked at me with furrowed brows but still nodded his head. He then looked at me from head to toe.
