Hello everyone!! Thank you so much for taking the time to read my story. It means the world!!
I have made a few small changes from the original story that I must explain in advance to keep you all on board.
(Spoiler!) I know I'm sorry :(
So in my version of the book Rhea Royce had a Scottish accent like Harrold Westerling and Alys Rivers. So my OC's original accent is Scottish and the fake accent she puts on throughout the book is an English accent
This is the first I have written in a long time so some of the chapters have been rushed and the writing might appear lazy in some parts. I do apologise in advance it is still a first draft and I will go back and make some changes throughout to make your reading experience as enjoyable as possible.
(If you feel there are some parts you find confusing or need a better explanation please do not be afraid to ask me some questions in the comments and I will happily answer them for you.
I am also open to criticism from other writers so feel free to express your opinions)
Much love and appreciation <3

Aelee's mind was completely blank as she walks down the hallways of her home. The stoned walls hanging many beautiful weapons made from the finest of resources from gold to Valyrian steel Torches and treasures wherever you went. this was Myrsi. A small island in between essos and Westeros.
An evolved civilisation. Masters of war.
An empire so lethal their victories put them at the top of the food chain. The slayers of men and gods.
It was something Aelee was so incredibly proud to be apart of. Her head remains high as the sound of her boots click off the ground as she approaches the two colossal doors completely made out of gold. She awaits as two guards pull the heavy doors open allowing her to reach her destination where she had been summoned.
As she enters five council members sit around a tall gold and blue table with golden chair backs so tall they touch the ceiling
"Lord Magnus , lord Killian , lady Cecelia, lord Sorren , lady Emmeline you summoned me?" She speaks out her voice echoing through the entire room
All council members covered their faces in gold armoured masks and their finest clothing covered in jewels and diamonds
"Aelee , we have summoned you here because we have finally come to the conclusion and all at a agreement to what you must do to prove your undying loyalty to us" Lady Cecelia says her voice rich and husky
Aelee's sea green eyes wander around the room quickly analysing everyone to see if she can read their eyes
"I am listening" she says calmly and respectfully
"The Targaryens stole something of ours a long time ago. When Maegor's rule plagued this miserable realm he could not be satisfied with what he had. His greed grew dangerously and he only wanted more and more and more. Until is eyes sought out one of our own. Our oldest sword. A mesmerising weapon capable of mass destruction Godslayer."
Aelee clears her throat feeling tension arise through her body at even the Targaryen name.
She keeps silent awaiting to allow them to finish
"This sword is the very essence of our empire. We are the slayers of gods and men and without that sword we are nothing."
"You have been treated differently than my other girls because of your Targaryen descent. I understand that must have been difficult but you can understand why." Lady Cecelia says
Aelee immediately nods as quick flashbacks torment her mind
"Yes I can"
"Good. You will return to Westeros. You will disguise yourself amongst them and you will return the sword to its rightful ancestry. Prove to us that you are one of us."
Aelee pauses conflicted to speak her mind or to stay silent but she knew in her heart she had to.
"I understand why you would believe me to be the best selection for this mission would be due a test of loyalty but what if I am recognised? I spent my childhood with them" she asks openly hoping not to offend but secretly hoping they would reconsider what they are asking of her.
Lady Emmeline sits forward. The golden chains dangling from her mask clatter with sound as she moves
"Because you are a canary. canary assassins are the most skilled and dangerous females in the entire world. This is what you trained for. You will find a way." She says in a very proud and passionate tone.
"How long has it been since you left Westeros behind?" Lord Sorren asks breaking the silence in a more calming way from the pressure lady Emmeline had just introduced.
"I left when I was 9 years old. That was 10 years ago." Aelee says remembering those days once more.
"A decade has passed. You were a child then but a woman now. You have an advantage of being unrecognised" lord Magnus says while his extremely long golden nails covered in jewels tap on the table as he speaks
Aelee stands her green eyes staring into space as memories of the silver haired boy appears for the first time in a long time. The feelings she once felt sending a wave of sadness and anger once more. He was a ghost from her past and now he had came to haunt her.
She couldn't admit it. She couldn't show weakness but she didn't want to go. A horrible feeling churns in her stomach. She desperately didn't want to return to Westeros. she was finally free.
As if Lady Cecelia could sense. She was the most empathetic council member.
"Aelee. Face your demons. kill the girl with the dragon blood and let the Canary be born"
They were right. The past would always haunt her if she didn't face it. Destroy it. This was her test. This was her birthright. She was once a lost girl with dragon blood now she would return and put an end to that girl forever and be reborn as a true Canary Assassin. Something she earned for herself and secured her place in this world.
She suddenly nods and looks up at them with passion and fire in her eyes.
"I will not fail you" she announces and suddenly bowing in respect and loyalty
"Very good. Make your preparations and return as a true Canary my girl" Lady Cecelia says
Aelee nods once more and turns leaving the chamber she keeps her eyes fixated forward knowing she finally had a chance to cut ties with House Targaryen forever and be who she was truly supposed to be.
First she would need to sail to Westeros but she would need to create a disguise and a back story.
When she lived in Westeros she had always had a different accent from her Targaryen relatives. Her mother had the same accent. The same accent as House Westerling. If she was going to pull this off and get that sword she could not risk anyone recognising her. Her accent was always an obvious one. She always stood out because of it especially in the red keep.
They knew what she looked like when she was a child hopefully puberty was kind enough to her to make her unrecognisable after all these years.
She needed a name. A backstory.
Elodie Hill. She says to herself that evening as she writes down a potential back story for herself
Elodie was born in the river lands. Maybe she was born an orphan. The bastard daughter of lord Tully maybe? no no that wouldn't work , could it?
No no she would be one of the small folk.
Elodie Hill an orphan from The Riverlands who became an orphan at a young age and now needed to provide for herself and becoming a servant at kings landing was how she would do it and her accent was now different too. She would have to practice if she would be able to pull this off. She would also need to find somewhere to hide her weaponry.
How hard could this be?
